I only lost about 3kg within a year, but I went from 54% fat mass to 40%. I think I could’ve been more strict with my dieting and I could’ve done with losing maybe another 2kg, but I’m actually really happy with the way I look now and the loss is quite noticable on my face as well.

Left is a year ago. The dress was a size too small for me at that time. I couldn’t do it up but I knew I wanted it. Right is about a week ago at final fitting (had to get it taken in slightly) and my wedding is in a week!

@allyouneedislove:  Thank you so much! I’m 163cm and currently sitting at 79kg, so still technically “obese”.

My usual routine is:

2x 45-minutes zumba classes a week (cos i LOVE dancing – it’s my fav form of cardio. I think this is the key, you need to find a cardio you enjoy doing. Some people enjoy running, I HATE IT.)
2x  30 mins weight training or boxing sessions a week.

When I have a bit more time, I throw in one or two sessions a week of 30 minutes on the elliptical.

I didn’t “diet” per say. In fact, I think I ate more in the past year? I just made better decisions about what I’m eating. Basically every time I craved something sweet, I have fruit instead. Every time I feel like having something savoury, I grab some carrots with a dip.

And I still ate chocolate and chips and drink alcohol. I just have less of it. I don’t buy the big blocks of chocolates even though it’s 10 times cheaper. I buy the smallest possible one, that way when I’m compelled to eat it all, I’m only eating a small bar of chocolate instead of the whole block! Same goes with everything else “naughty”

Mine’s relatively minor, but I still feel good about it!

~2.5 months ago:

A couple weeks ago:

I’m down a few pounds and % body fat, and have gained muscle.  Now ~119 at 5’5″.

@lolot:  You look great! How much did you weigh in your before pic? I’m 5’5″ as well (currently at 130 lbs) and I’m trying to get down to 120. Just curious to know what you weighed before toning up.

i dont have an after pic in my dress yet but so far i’ve lost 14 lbs and a lot of inches. I still have 2 months left to lose weight but I’m losing steam on keeping up with my diet.

@thebear:  thanks lady!  I was at ~123 or so in the first picture (weight taken first thing in the am).  But I also have like NO boobs and a small frame/bones, so I carry my weight a little heavier than some.

You can totally do 10 lbs before your wedding!

I wish I had pics of my before, but I bought my dress in January when I was 40 lbs heavier.  I was a size 14 and now I am a size 6!!!!!  My dress will be having MAJOR alterations

These pictures were taken about a year apart, the one on the right is my final fitting. I don’t have my pro pics back, but when I do I can post an updated picture 🙂
There’s a 40 pound difference ( 215 and 175) in the pics and to this day, I still can’t believe I was that heavy.
