There are plenty of posts on here about how to lose weight and motivation to keep going, but not many on weight loss success! It's inspirational for me to hear about other people's triumphs, and I don't think I'm alone in that.

This is also a good opportunity for me to not-so-casually bring up that since my recent diagnosis of high cholesterol and pre-diabetes a week and a half ago, I've lost 7 pounds! I've totally cut out processed foods and caffeine, eat foods low in sodium and cholesterol, and make sure I eat the right amounts of fruits and veggies every day. It's been rough...I was totally addicted to sugar. I'm starting to feel in control now though, and it's really been a self-confidence booster to stick with a diet longer than 2 days. Congrats MsAnna!  You are definitely on the road to success!

I myself 50 lbs in less than 1 year for my wedding in Feb.  I did it with the Weight Watchers program, but without attending meetings or even paying a dime.  I discovered that everything that I needed for weight watchers was easily accessible on google.  It worked well for me.

I haven't gained any of my weight back in more than a year, yay!  Unfortunately I am not completely satisfied with my current weight either when the doctor told me about my cholestrol...So I did a bit of research and started the F-Factor diet, to hopefully take care of the last 15 lbs and my cholestrol issue!

Best of Luck to everyone who is attempting to lose weight! and Congratulations to all of those who already have!

Congratulations, ladies! :)  It is always inspirational to hear success stories!

I have lost 28 pounds since September.  My mom had an extremely unexpected heart attack and my fiance was diagnosed with diabetes within a month of one another.  Because of this, my fiance and I decided to start living a more healthy lifestyle.  We started watching what we ate and planning healthy meals.  We also started working out almost everyday together.  As a result, he's lost 40 pounds and 4 sizes and I'm down 28 pounds and 2 sizes!  Of course, my wedding dress (ordered in September) came in MUCH too large, so I've been dealing with serious alterations.  I guess that's a great problem to have!

I'm proud of us because I feel like we're starting off our married life together healthy and happy.

I've been doing Weight Watchers for five weeks and am down 12.2 lbs.  I am so excited to be moving in the right direction, and feel so much better about myself!  I've got a long way to go, but my success and the wedding are motivating me to keep going!

This is a great place for inspiration! Thank you and congrats to all the ladies! :)

I have and still am in the process of trying to lose 40- 50 pounds and it is not easy!! I gained this weight right after i stopped smoking a year ago and with me never being a person who exercised, and just stuffing myself with food, the pounds packed on. I've been hearing such wonderful things about weight watchers and i did try it for 2 weeks, and lost about 4 pounds. Then, my issue with not having enough space in the fridge ( my situation is kinda hectic! ) to put all the good foods, i gave up and started to get the easy foods and went off the plan... that sucked totally

now, i've been exercising with my FH, and eating properly and i've been feeling great. i have not weighed myself yet, because i want to see if my clothes will fit properly first...

well, once again, good luck to us all Weight Loss Success! : wedding Icon Biggrin

MsAnnaLytical    March 13, 2010   Orlando, FL--finally with my FI!

I am proud to announce that I lost another 2.4 pounds this week...that makes 9.4 pounds in two weeks! I think a good deal of that was water weight, but I'm very, very please to be seeing results so soon. I have now officially lost all my Christmas/winter weight and have arrived back at my summer weight. Just in time! :)

MsAnnaLytical: water weight or not... Woo Hoo!! Great job!

I myself have dropped 30lbs since January 10th & the best part is that I haven't really changed too much in my diet... I haven't really "dieted" this time. I don't eat anything from a package, no fast food & tons of water. I also workout 2-3 hours a day. It's changed my body & I'm sooo much happier. :)

Down with dieting! Just make positive, healthy lifestyle changes! Keep up the great work ladies

I have made it through finals, a trip to DC, and extreme stress at work, and managed to lose 15.6 pounds in 5 weeks!! I'm excited because it hasn't been all at once, ironically. I can feel a difference in my clothes, and I'm on the way to wellness!

Once I lose half the weight I want to lose, I'm going to start trying on dresses. I am now 11 pounds away from that! I am so proud of myself, I just had to brag. :) It's nice to feel accomplished, like I've really put in time, effort, and managed to get my head on track!

    Hi bees,

Was poking around this fitness section and found this post.  Four years ago I was a 100 pounds larger than I am right now, its been a slow slow process but the person I am now eats loads of greens, is less stressed, jogs in the morning before work and found her dress in a shop.. in her size.

I have a long way to go but I never lost any weight on a diet, diets were the worst and I would just get overwhelmed and gained. So I stopped them cold turkey and started trying to get healthy. More salads, only snacked on fruit and veggies, started grilling up fish one or twice a week and slowly I started walking, then got a treadmill, then a gym membership and then started training for a 5k.
