    Hi ladies,

I just joined Weight Watchers, and I'm so excited!  It feels so good to be in control of what I'm eating and have a goal to work toward (a dress!).  Is anyone else on Weight Watchers?  Any good tips for maintaining this motivation?  Any great recipes to share?  Thanks!

    Cynthia

I'm doing weight watchers too.  I love the etools site.  It is really worth the $ for me.  I'm down 5 lbs in 4 weeks.  Only 5 more to go!

There are some great WW blogs out there too!

I have been doing weight watchers on-line for a while, and have always loved. I find when I get off track and then get back to weight watchers I always lose weight and tone up!

One motivation tool I use is letting myself have something I really love once a week. It make me feel as though I'm not depriving myself.  I also love how your workouts earn you extra points! It's great.

    Good luck!

I've done WW for a while and it's helped me lose a lot of weight. The best advice I can give you is that program works if you follow it. YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT, but you can't really "cheat".

    Good for you!!!

I started WW in September, with my "eye on the prize" of looking great at my beach wedding... I'm more than half way to my goal, I've lost 37.8 pounds... (I will get there and so can you :)

The best thing for me is the motivation I get from the (corny) meetings... weighing in holds me accountable and it's a huge help!  Tracking is a pain... I admit, I'm not that great at sticking to writing everything, but etools helps for sure.

    HANG IN!!!

I use Weight Watchers and lost 20 pounds and reached my goal.  I looked great in my dress for my October wedding.  The best thing is all of the compliments I get on how great I look.

The best motivation I got was from my new grandmother-in-law who did WW when it was brand new: her quote-  "Nothing tastes as good as looking thin feels."  It's so true!

I've been on WW for about a month and a half and I'm down 7.4 pounds :) It took awhile before I started seeing results, but this past week I noticed a difference in my jeans (woohoo!). I'm a bridesmaid in my friends wedding (in June), my brother's wedding (July), and then my wedding (February 2010). Whew! I have lots of things to look forward to :)

In its simplist form, Weight Watchers teaches you to change your lifestlye and make healthier decisions. You're not forbidden from eating anything, you don't have special meals you need to buy, it's just all about eating more lean meat, fish, veggies, etc. It truly doesn't feel like you're on a diet (at least in my opinion), it's about becoming healthy!

Weight Watchers is great! I need to rejoin soon, I want to drop some pounds before my engagement pictures in May.

I did WW two years ago and lost 16 pounds. The most motivating part for me, was seeing myself actually lose weight. Once you start, it becomes easier. I just have a hard time starting up. I went on it for 3 months and lost the 16 pounds, then went on vacation and never went back on. I really need to start it up again!

Its also motivating that if you exercise, you get extra points. Since I love food I am such a better exerciser when I'm on WW.

I have been doing WW for 7 weeks now and I have lost 13 lbs. My favorite treat right now is the Wholly Guacamole (which is guacamole dip divided into 100 calorie packs) and baked scoops (14 of them). It is 5 points, but I think it is totally worth it!

Ladies, thanks for all of the inspirational feedback!  I'm happy to report that I lost 4.2 lbs in my first week!  I'm really enjoying the new Momentum program, with the focus on filling foods.  The WW desserts make it so easy too :-)  Knowing that you can have double chocolate cake or a cookie dough sundae for 3 points make it so much better when you're craving sweets.  So excited to hear how everyone else is doing, keep up the great work ladies!

I've been doing WW on and off for almost a year now. I restarted back in November and my weight is down 22.2 lbs! I love the program but I've noticed I'm a little reticent in tracking my food and such lately. I'm so close to goal (only 8.8lbs to go) and I need to keep my focus!

Bridezilla2009 - good luck at your WI tomorrow! Let us know if you make the 15lbs!

I've been on it since September and have lost 35 lbs... I have 5 more to lose by the beginning or middle of April. Then whatever else comes off is bonus. My mom and I are doing it together. We motivate each other. I had a 'good week' last week, I lost 2.4, but that was because I was so sick.

I'm planning to go back on for sure in June (give myself a month's maintenance) and lose 15-20 more after that...

I "use" WW, meaning that I only occassionally track my food and activity, but enjoy the tools.  I like the idea of converting it all to a point system, it seems to take the emphasis off the calories.  However, I find that I fall of the wagon every few days when it comes to entering my food.

But one feature I LOVE is the weight tracker.  Somehow, just seeing the little graph makes it worth every penny for me.  I was down 13.5 pounds since January 1, but I slipped a little over the last couple of weeks, with several friends' birthdays to celebrate.  And, now my own birthday is coming up this weekend.  But April will be a big month for me--I am hoping to lose 10 pounds next month!

By the way, I have also been using Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred video.  I do it in the morning because that way I don't have to move more than 10 yards from my bed, and it's quick--between the prep (getting dressed), the video, and then a brief "cooldown" )downing a huge glass of iced water before jumping in the shower), it only takes me just over 30 minutes.  I can easily fit that in my schedule, and I am NOT a morning person.  That way I also start the day "right" and my motivation to stay on track lasts all day.  In fact, I just realized something--the only times  I ever "slip up" on my diet (eat an entire order of pump cheese nachos, for example) are on days that I skipped working out!

I started WW in late February. I am now down 11.6lbs .. I love it.. I have tried WW before and have done well but fallen off the wagon. For some reason it's really sticking this time. I incorporate all the tools when I go out. I prepif I am going to a restaurant and if I can find point values I find something to eat before I go and don't even look at the menu. I cook more and try new recipes. My FI can't even tell the difference in some receipes. my goal is 40lbs by the end of October. so I have 29.4  to go. I would love to lose anothr 20-30 after that but if I can reach that goal by the endof October i'd be really happy! Good luck to everyone here and keep us posted on your accomplishments! I'm considering doing WW myself and I was wondering -- how do you calculate the number of points you're allowed to eat per day?

When you join, they give you a quiz (both in the books and online) that calculates it for you.

I was on weight watchers this past year and lost almost 20 pounds, but of course, I was stressed out with things family related and gained it back (I know, it's not healthy).  However, with 6 months left until the wedding, I am really thinking about joining again.  It's like someone said, it really does make you accountable and going to the meetings really motivates you to lose the weight.  I was contemplating going online, but I think I'm going to go the meetings.  It's motivating to go to them and hear what other people do and what they don't do.  I'm just getting really nervous with the fitting coming up right at the end of the summer that I won't be able to fit into my dress.  I think I would probably cry out of embarrassment.  However, I have been doing the Jillian Michaels Shred video.  I started doing it last week and I must say that I couldn't even finish it the first two times I did it.  I actually did the entire DVD tonight which I was very happy about.  If you really want a DVD that will kick you in the butt, buy this video.  I got it at Target for $13, but it was well worth it.  I figure I'll do the first level a few more times this week and then go for the second level.

Weight Watchers is great!  I was on it for about a year and lost 30 lbs.  I'm not on it now (trying to do it on my own) but it really worked for me and I'm so happy I did it.  It's a life style change and like you said, it feels great to finally be in control.  Good luck!

So I have a question - I've been using the Self Diet Club, which has a weight tracker and nutrition fact entry system - similar to most free trackers like fitday or myfitnesspal or sparkpeople, I think.  It has some somewhat "upgraded" features from those sites, including an awesome pie chart of crabs:protien:fat ratio in your diet for the day, a feature that lets you save recipes as well as enter custom foods, plus a fairly extensive database of foods already. Plus it has an exercise entere and a way to

So my question is, for the WW Online users - what will I get out of joining WW that I don't already have?  Is the points system that much better than regular calorie counting?  I feel like I am pretty in control of what I eat and I've been able to lose 20+ pounds on my own, but I feel like I could use a little push to get me over the plateau...

Nothing tastes as good as looking thin feels!

I love it!  The etools and weight tracke are the best.  I espeically love WW because it doesn't take you out of real life -- you are forced to make good choices with everyday food as opposed to say Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem where they supply the food for you.

I've lost 26 lbs in 3 months and i have about another 26-30 to go!  You can all do it.  I highly recommend the meetings for accountability and motivation!  Go brides :)
