It has worked for me in the past! My big mistake was thinking I had it all "figured out" and stopped going. But I'm back on the WW wagon to lose weight and get healthier! I definitely recommend it!
I did Weight Watchers 3 years ago and lost 58 pounds! So... I definitely am an advocate for it working! I've kept most of the weight off, but some has creeped back on. I should probably exercise more... When I exercise regularly I stay within 5 pounds of my lowest weight.
I think the weekly meetings are absolutely necessary, at least for me. They helped me stay accountable knowing I had to weigh in, and it's a good support system listening to what has worked for other people. The plan isn't hard to follow, you're allowed to eat whatever foods you want, you just have to stay reasonable about portions, and limit your overall calorie intake. I would definitely recommend. It's a really healthy way to lose weight.
Thanks for the advice...I signed up today and am going to the first meeting tomorrow. We'll see how it goes!!! :-)) Hopefully the hardest part was getting on the scale today. I felt like if I gained one more pound they were going to have to just wrap a big white sheet around me on the wedding day!
@clane616: awww good luck! i have lost 21 lbs so far! you can do it!
I think WW is fantastic - and honestly, the meetings are key for me. I think they keep you in check, hold you accountable, and remind you that you are NOT alone.
I've fallen off the wagon recently, but this post made me think about how great WW has been for me. I'm going to my meeting this week!
Thanks for the encouragement. I joined and I'm going to my first meeting today! :-)
I joined a few days ago. I did it a long time ago it worked well for me too. But i never went to meetings. Im tempted to go... we'll see.
Good luck! I highly recommend WW! I did it a couple years ago and lost about 25 pounds. I gained a couple pounds back and my BF and I are now trying it without the weekly meetings (although I recommend doing the weekly meetings for awhile if this is your first time).
Best of luck! I've done WW online for 4 1/2 months and I've lost over 20 lbs. It takes discipline and choices to stick with the plan -- but if you stick with it, IT WORKS! Good luck, you can do it!
Good choice on WW! I did it and lost all the weight I needed to that way. It's a great program. I bought the books and didn't on my own, and that worked for me. Do what works for you though, some people need the meetings!

Hi bees!
I am tired of feeling like my weight is out of control so I'm seriously thinking of trying weight watchers. I am thinking the in person way with meetings will work the best for me. Has anyone out there done the whole weekly meeting thing? How did it work?
Thanks!
