Brides on Weight Watchers, do you work out in conjunction with your diet? Have you had success?

Any other June brides join weight watchers after the new year? i'm trying to lose 30 lbs by my late June wedding and this is my first week on WW.

    Please share your stories :)

Hi! You will really enjoy the new program! I've lost 35lbs on the program. I went back to old ways and put it back on, so I'm starting again. I'm a June 2012 bride, but I want to be slim for engagement pics (sometime in Sept./Oct.).

I do work out in conjunction to WW. You can earn activity points, which can be used for extra food points (I try not to go into those, though). For me, it makes the weight loss go faster. Plus, I feel better about myself.

Good luck with the program! It really does work well!

I have heard from family members who have done weight watchers without a structured exercise program and they have lost weight if they followed their diet strictly.  I tried weight watchers and I exercise regularly, but I was just too hungry to stick to my limited number of points!

I have been doing weight watchers since October and to be honest, if you follow the program the way it's meant to be done, you will lose the weight through the diet.  Exercize is so important for your health, but 80% of weight loss is diet - that being said, I work out 2 - 3 times a week and I'm trying to add a day.

I am on week 2 and love the new points program.  I found some classes that I really like at the gym so I do those 4 times a week and then my fiance and I go and work out together on Sundays.  Naturally there are other things I would like to be doing but I am actually starting to look forward to working out and I don't make it optional....weird! :) Good Luck!

How much does it cost to join WeightWatchers?  I'm on a budget, but it sounds really interesting!

I just signed up for the online program for I believe just under $60 for 3 months. I've been liking it so far!

@Ms. Library: I believe they are waiving the registration fee until March.  I just joined last week and I paid $15 to attend the meeting and another $10 to purchase the calculator which I feel is a must have!

You pay to attend meetings each week.  I think the fee is different per location.  And if you want to join/use the eTools online, you get two weeks trial and then you pay like $12.99 (I need to double check this one).  But the eTools are great. Plus it gives you access to hundreds of recipes.

I actually have my first weigh-in tonight after being on WW for one week!  I'm excited and nervous!

I've been a little disappointed with weight watchers. I get 29 points and it's too many! I'm a very petite person and only had 15lbs to lose.

@keybee:  I'm a June bride and I also started WW again on the first.  I did it last year as well and lost about 25 punds on it.  For the most part I did NOT incorporate exercise and Activity points.  This time around I am trying to do more of that since I want to tone up by the wedding as well.  You can definitely meet your goal - especially if you incorporate APs into the mix.  Good luck!  Oh, the type of exercise that I do (when I do it) is usually 30 minutes on either the treadmill or elliptical.  I need to get some weights in this time around also.

Yep, I actually gained weight the first week. It was just so much food! I even ate krispy Kremes and still made it under 29 points...

29 points was just a lot of calories for someone of my weight and stature. I'm only 5'0

I think I read that 29 points is the lowest amount anyone can get with the WW program.

I've lost four pounds with it so far... :)

29 points is the lowest anyone should get and it's similar in calorific intake to what a normal healthy adult should be eating to lose weight. @PinkMagnolia: you might want to look at what you are eating to make up that 29 points - on the new plan your filling and healthy foods should steer you more towards a diet high in fibre and protein, using healthy carbs to fuel your body. Krispy Kreme is high in simple carbs (processed flour) and fat and you may find that you need to steer your diet back to more unprocessed foods low in fat to see results.

Thanks for your input ladies! Like most of you have said, I also have 29 points, and find it's really hard to use them all unless I have a big meal out that day. I don't want to eat excessively just to follow the plan... I have my first weigh in this Sunday, fingers crossed!

I just got weighed this evening, and was a bit disappointed to be down a half pound. I know it's better than being up, but I was good this week for the first proper time since last May, so I had been hoping for a good result! I did however have my period this week, so that probably hijacked me.

I have to say I really like the program this time. It seems a lot more geared towards making your diet part of your life.  On the old system I always felt like I was in danger every time I left the house. The weekly points really are a cushion against going mad, or doing damage when you're away from the books and hungry!

Bedt of luck everyone, ww probably is the most successful weight loss program out there for a reason!

I love the new points program its a million times easier.  I do workout everyday.  Right now its mostly snow shoveling (had to shovel a foot of snow off the driveway yesterday) but I also do cardio, and the 30 day shred.  I am on week 2 and lost 6lbs.  Good luck bees!

I do work out with the program.  I do the elliptical when I can get to the gym and run in place when I can't.  I also do pilates daily, which just makes you feel great and is such a great toning workout.  I use the Veria channel's pilates sessions, but Winsor pilates is wonderful too!  Yoga booty ballet is another great workout!

Ladies, if you have iphone, there is a 1.99 app called pointsplus that calculates points for you just like the calculator!
