@jillieb:

do you use all your points (including the weekly extra) every day/week? I rarely use my weekly points. I usually have about 6 points left at the end of the day.

– do you work out much or are you just dieting? I work out 4-5 days a week and follow the program.

– what is your favorite thing to eat? The laughing cow cheese wedges (1 point each) or the Weight Watchers string cheese (also 1 point)

-how much weight have you lost or do you generally lose on a week to month basis? I have been on the program for about 10 weeks now and I have lost 20 pounds altogether. I usually average about 2 pounds at each weigh in. There was one time when I only lost .4 and another time when I lost 7!

-do you go to meetings or do the online program? eta: DAMN BEE FOR CUTTING THIS OFF!!!!
I started off online and just didn’t hold myself accountable. I just couldn’t get motivated. MandaMack got me to my first meeting and blame the Capricorn in me, but it’s almost like a little contest every week. You have to stand on the scale infront of someone so to me I work extra hard just to show results to the other person (though they might not care as much. lol) Plus, the stickers and charms are an awesome bonus too!

Hi!

do you use all your points (including the weekly extra) every day/week?

I most definitely use all my points lol. Well most days, some days I have a few extra. As far as the weekly extra, I usually use those over the weekend becuase it is harder for me then and I go out and whatnot.

do you work out much or are you just dieting?

As of now I am just dieting. I plan to work out eventually but I find working out to be horrible lol. I get so bored no matter what I try! I did work out yesterday tho – so who knows!

what is your favorite thing to eat?

Chicago deep dish pizza is going to be the death of me! I have been craving it like nobody’s business! I stopped drinking soda, both reg and diet, and cut back on pastas and ice cream. But, this whole pizza thing is really hard! I have been going to mcdonalds about one a week tho to get their low fat vanilla cone. It is 4 points and it really curves my cravings!

how much weight have you lost or do you generally lose on a week to month basis?

I have only had three weight ins. This coming Friday will be my fourth. The first week I lost 6 pounds. The week after 3 and last week 2.

do you go to meetings or do the online program?

I am doing it online and I love it!

1. I generally use all my daily pts, and may go a few over.  teh weekly extras b/c only gonig a few pts over and the amt I exercise (6x/week for at least an hr) I generally have at least 45 weekly pts left.

2. I workout about 6x a week, 3x of heavy cardio, 1 day yoga, and 2 days of strength training

3. Favorite thing to eat… hmmm, I don’t know.  I gave up eating complex carbs for dinner, so I eat a lot of protein and veggies at night, for snack, I do yogurt with fruit and nuts, or trail mix alot.

4. I have changed a lot, but I was about 1/2 a lb a week.  I am already in the safe weight zone, and when I joined was looking to lose about 7 lbs, so I may lose it slower than other people.

5. I do the online program.  I had gone to a mtg a long time ago, and didn’t find it helpful for what I needed.

Hope that helps!  Let me know how WW works for you.

do you use all your points (including the weekly extra) every day/week? I end up using all my points, including weeklies and some activity.  Ack. I only have 29 points though since I’m technically in my “healthy” BMI range now. 29 points ain’t a lot for a 5’10” woman.

do you work out much or are you just dieting? I work out a ton. 6-7 days a week, sometimes twice a day. I enjoy it.

what is your favorite thing to eat? eggs, lean mets, fruit, veggies.  I find special low point snacks though.

how much weight have you lost or do you generally lose on a week to month basis? I’ve lost about 23 lbs in my initial 2 months (sept – dec 2010).  I had gained a few back (10), but now i’ve been back on program for 3 weeks and lost about 5.  I had a small gain this week…but still chugging away.  I lose about 1- 1.5/week on average. I shoot for .5.

I definitely use all of my points!  I’m usually really strict on WW every week until about….Thursday…and then it just goes downhill over the weekend.

do you work out much or are you just dieting?

Just dieting.  I would rather chew off one of my legs than work out.

what is your favorite thing to eat?

Soft serve ice cream with crumbled peanutbutter cups.  Did I mention that the local soft serve shack opened for the summer…?  FAIL.

how much weight have you lost or do you generally lose on a week to month basis?

I generally lose a pound or so a week unless I totally foul up…in which case, it goes the other direction.

do you go to meetings or do the online program?

Online!  I didn’t have that much to lose and I was afraid of being the girl at the WW meetings where everyone whines, why is SHE here, blah blah blah.  Whether you’re losing 10 pounds or 100, if you need structure to do it, WW is the way to go!

I’m about to start week 4 and I’ve lost 10 pounds so far! I really like that I never feel deprived. I eat everything I want, albeit not as much as I may want. I’ve also read alot of the articles on the website about food being fuel for your body and I’m trying to ask myself why I want to eat. If I find myself feeling like making a beeline for the fridge, I take a time-out and decide why I’m eating. If it’s because I’m stressed, I’ll ask my coworker to take a walk with me. If I just want to chew on something, I’ll grab a stick of gum, etc. That’s helped alot. I’m trying to think of this as a lifestyle change rather than a diet. I could lose half my body weight and still be in the overweight category with BMI so 10 pounds in three weeks is probably not typical.

do you use all your points (including the weekly extra) every day/week?
I use all of my daily points most days. If there are any left over, it’s like 2-3 points. I dip into the weekly points for date night at Texas Roadhouse, or for events where I don’t have any control over what food is there (like a potluck at work, I can only control what I bring), but I’m trying really hard to make sure that I don’t use ALL of the weekly points just for the sake of using them (doesn’t jibe with my new outlook of food=fuel to just willy-nilly eat because I “have” points, although I definitely have bad days) And remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day, and that changing all your habits isn’t going to happen overnight. If you splurge too much one meal, just promise yourself you’ll do better at the next meal and really try to take it all one day at a time (which is definitely easier said than done!!!)

do you work out much or are you just dieting?
I’m just dieting right now. I have a membership at the gym at my office and plan to resume my lunch hour workouts soon.

what is your favorite thing to eat?
There’s this locally owned restaurant in the heart of downtown that has homecooked meals… the Friday special is grilled cheese and tomato soup. It’s to die for. It’s really rich and creamy tomato soup with real heavy cream in it and big chunks of tomatoes… Mmmmm. It’s also something I save my weekly points for 🙂 I used to go every Friday but now it’s going to be a once a month thing special splurge since it’s like 25 points.

In terms of WW friendly foods, I’m all about the fruit, I love that it’s zero points! I bought a huge watermelon and chopped it up into several small containers to take with me for lunch. It’s so sweet and delicious, I don’t want dessert! So it’s a great way for me to save some points by cutting out dessert and replacing it with a zero point food. Frozen grapes are really awesome too.

how much weight have you lost or do you generally lose on a week to month basis?
I’ve lost ten pounds so far, and I’m about to start week 4. Week one, I lost 5.5 pounds, week two, I lost 2.5 pounds, and I weigh in tomorrow for my official week 3 loss, which is 2 pounds so far. BUT, I’m morbidly obese. So I don’t think it’s typical to lose 10 pounds in 3 weeks. I’m hoping to consistently lose 2 pounds per week, which is what’s suggested for long-term weight loss and weight loss maintenance.

do you go to meetings or do the online program?
Online. My starting weight was 245 so the idea of getting on a scale at a meeting… freaked me out to say the least. I’m also incredibly busy with my job, RCIA, classes, housework, wedding planning, etc., so the meetings just weren’t an option for me.

Well, after a holiday in France I’m on week 1 of WW.  Thanks for this post – really inspiring to know there are others out there doing the weightloss thing for the big day!  To help me along the way, am a bridesmaid three times this year and am totally not going to be the fat one in the photos! Then gotta keep it off for next year!

Really seems like people are either really pro or really anti work outs!  Think I”m somewhere in the middle.  Gym twice a week (have been doing this for ages – not especially weight loss related) and also digging my allotment once a week seems to work for me.  Need to bump up the gym visits though – maybe a weekend run (or maybe not…).

Good luck, ladies.  Keep at it and let me know how you’re doing.  You’re my inspiration! x

@BackyardLoveBird: @FutureMrsBPB: & Others:  How do you guys lose weight so quickly?  Are you all outside of the healthy weight range.  It seems everyone is at leat 1 lb a week, and most of you are ALOT more.  At about 0.5 lbs a week (and sometimes a little lower), I wonder what I’m doing something wrong.

@AmberAustin–I think your current weight has a lot to do with it. I read the 100+ pounds to lose board on WW website and most of those folks are losing 2-4 pounds per week consistently. If you’re starting out at 150 and your goal is 130, 0.5 pounds per week, it’s hard to truly compare that to someone starting at 350, whose goal is 180. Hang in there 🙂
