Weight Watchers: Meetings or Online?

I’m not currently doing WW, but when I was, in person worked better for me than online (I’ve done both).  I was backsliding online; for me, being held accountable in front of real people sort of kept me in line.  Do you have a friend you could maybe do the plan with, until you get back to real meetings?

@okqueenbee:  I’m a LM too.  I’m up about 15 lbs over my goal right now.  Love Chub.  I know WW is different in different territories. But here LM have to weigh in once per month.  Every weigh in over 2 lbs over your goal you pay.  

I personally do better going weekly, so I’m just on the monthly pass right now.  It’s better for my own weight management.  Once I’m back to goal I can cancel it and weigh in for free.  We only get the 3 month window if you’re coming back from pregnancy.  And then its from the birth date of the child.  *** Somehow I missed the part that this is your situation the first time I read the post. *** Can you go back now and then down to 1x/month if you aren’t back at goal yet?  

Meetings are a huge part of my success.  I need the mental reset each week.  It keeps me on track and focussed.  And the accountability of someone else weighing me is a big part of all of that.  I did online, it wasn’t great.  And really, etools suck.  I track with MFP (and I don’t count points – just calories, fat, fibre, protein… and I watch my sodium.)  The scanner is much better than the WW one.  I do follow the GHGs and the routines from WW though.  I just track it differently.  

I can’t wait to weigh in tomorrow, I’m way down from last week.

I’m online only. The community gives me enough accountability that I don’t feel the need to go get on the scale. I had my 5th weigh in yesterday and am down 12.6 lbs — averaging 2.5 pounds a week. I’ll absolutely take it. 🙂

@okqueenbee:  I do online only. I was on my fitness pal 4 months and lost 7 pounds, joined WWonline 10 days ago and have lost 7 POUNDS! I do think it’s worth it.

But it is hard to motivate yourself
