Good Afternoon Ladies!
I’m excited to have this day off because not only did I just work 36 hours in 3 days (long shifts at the hospital, I’m tired), this day also serves as the first day of the lifestyle change I’m about to make next week. I’m planning meals!
I’ve scooped up Bob Harper’s “Are You Ready!” (thanks to some Bees here suggesting it in other posts) and I’ve found a beautiful, inspiring journal that I plan to write in regularly as I make my way through this year in a healthy manner.
Not only do I have quite a bit of weight to lose (ultimate goal of losing 80 pounds) but it’s time I set an example for my daughter. She is 15 months old and starting to really branch out with her food choices. I initially lost all of my baby weight but alas, it has returned and seems mighty comfy where it’s at!
So, I turn to you for some help…
If you were in my position, with this amount of weight to lose, would you sign up for WW Online and pay $18 a month to have some guidance or would you do this on your own? I know WW recipes are EVERYWHERE online, and with the basics of healthy eating (compared to my current grab-as-I-go-eating), I’m bound to lose.
Half of me has my foot in the WWO door and half of me is like, eh, download recipes from the net and DIY it. To be honest, I’ve never done WW before so guidance through point allottment would help me a ton…but again, is this something I can figure out on my own without the program?
As an aside, I did try to lose some of this weight last year and succeeded with about 20 pounds of it. I joined the Metabolic Research Center and while I saw great short term results, it was costly and time consuming for me. Madison was only 8 months old at the time and my husband works the night shift. I just couldn’t continue at the pace I was going – free time was literally non-existant for me.
My body reacts well to healthy eating and exercise. In fact, I dropped 9 pounds during my “conditioning week” at MRC. I’m sure much of it was bloat but nonetheless, I saw results. By Week 6, I was down 15 pounds.
What do you think? Which route should I go with this substantial amount (IMO) of weight to lose? I’m ready to slim down and have my curves back! I seriously crave it. I’m excited to work out and I look forward to eating healthy foods. I’m more than ready for next week!
Heck, I have a wedding dress to rock next year, too…I’d love to walk into the store and feel free to try on ANY dress my heart desires.
