I would say first identify what your main eating “issue” is. For me, I eat mainly simple start foods, but I track, because when I did simple start without tracking, I gained because I have portion size issues, and it was a huge eye opener when I started weighing/measuring everything. I’d suggest sticking to your points goal but eating the simple start foods, and that way you will make sure you don’t go over what you need.

Here’s some ideas:

Breakfast: shredded wheat with skim; steel cut oatmeal; cottage cheese with fruit

Lunch: whole wheat thin bun + veggie burger patty + condiments (I like adding 1 pt and using laughing cow wedge of cheese); whole wheat pasta with tons of sauteed veggies and sprinkle of low fat feta; grilled chicken with salad or veggies; canned tuna + celery + mustard + greek yogurt on low cal bread;

Dinner: Pasta with veggies and tomato sauce; lean beef/pork/fish + brown rice/cous cous/quinoa + roasted broccoli/cauliflower/asparagus

I just don’t know about WW. It’s not my favorite diet. For me, cutting out extra sugar and watching my portions help. And if you are a fan of coffees, stop it. Drink it black if you can help it, or add your own flavoring. The calories in drinks from coffee houses is ridiculous. I eat until I feel about 80% full and drink plenty of water. If you eat until you think you are 80% full, you will be surprised how full you feel after an hour. Our brains take a while to catch up to our guts. Sorry I’m not more helpful with the WW thing.

And my other beef with WW is that they cut out so much fat. Study after study has shown that cutting out fat does nothing for you. If you can do a modified version of Atkins, that’s the best way to go to lose weight fast. Everything turns to sugar in the body, and that is how it is stored. We call it fat, but it’s actually stored sugar. Protein and fat need to be broken down more in order to be stored. Sugar does not. And by sugar, I mean simple carbs. Those babies get stored immediately if you don’t burn it off exercising. Sugar from fruit is way healthier, therefore all fruits and veggies should not count when you are counting calories. You need those vitamins. My favorite dinner is steak, green beans, and carrots. The carrots have more starch in them because they are technically a “tuber” but they pack in the nutrients. So they help you feel full without eating a ton of starch, like a potato, corn, or some type of pasta. Spicy food also helps you feel fuller than if you eat that food bland.

I have been on WW on and off I would say about 2 1/2 years, the first time I lost 75lbs.  I too feel off the motivation due to a family tragedy and giving a baby.  When I came back I tried the simple start but like the previous post I also gained weight.  I am bad with portion size, so I had to go back and tracking and measuring.  I can’t remember what is on the simple start but for breakfast I usually have greek yogurt or cottage cheese and some fruit, oatmeal and fruit, or just a couple of eggs with the bread thins as toast.  For lunch it is usually left overs from dinner the night before or a lean cuisine frozen meal.  Dinner is chicken, fish or ground turkey, veggies or salad and a sweet potato or rice/grain.  Also I am trying to wean off the processed foods, I seem to lose more when I stay away from them.   GOOD LUCK on losing weight for your wedding!!

yogahhh:  I clerk for WW, and the biggest issue with filling and healthy is the portion sizes tend to get so big. If you are able to, I would absolutely recommend you stick to pointing everything. We are instructed to push simple start/filling and healthy but you’ll find that very few leaders and clerks do it because its way too easy to increase portion sizes.

If you would like some ideas, there are some great recipes on the various facebook groups (search filling and healthy), and members often point their recipes too, so you can decide if you want to point as well.

Defintely check out the breakfast jars!
