It's not on your list, but I've been on the hCG diet and have lost 12.5 lbs in the last 13 days. I'm getting married in exactly 2 months, so I needed something FAST!
Honestly? I'm just flat out counting calories using loseit.com. So far I've lost 17.6 pounds since the beginning of the year so I think it's great! And, you know, it's also free. ;)
WW if you want to spend the money. Nothing has stuck w/ me and granted I've been on this for only 2 weeks but the meetings make me accountable and I have lost 7.2 pounds with tiny tiny effort (and I didn't get to workout much those weeks).
Also, what are your workouts like? Are you really going hard. If you are, you should see some difference. If not, what goes into your mouth is of the utmost importance. Try really clean, unprocessed eating for a few days to jumpstart.
My friend is on Weight Watchers since January and has lost 17 pounds. Her wedding is in June.
I personally love South Beach. I felt that layer of fat around my ribs just melt away after the first two weeks. I don't weigh myself, I go by clothing fit. Plus I feel like South Beach teaches you how to eat responsibly unlike Atkins where when it was popular I would eat a dill pickle slathered with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon as a meal. It really messed up my metabolism for sure!
I'm with Lox --- working out 4x a week and I use loseit.com (free free free) to track my calories and stick to a specific # for calories a week as well. Down 10 pounds in 6 weeks! DIETING IS ESSENTIAL to losing weight but I hate calling it "dieting" -- I'd call it mindful eating. I eat ANYTHING I want, but I can't indulge anymore and as long as I stick to my numbers, I lose weight. That means if I know I'm having pizza for dinner I eat very mindfully the rest of the day---apples, oatmeal, that kind of stuff. Don't deprive yourself or tell yourself you "can't" have certain things...that's definitely how I fall off the diet wagon quickly!!!
I really really like the MyFitnessPal app, if you have a smartphone or an iPod touch - but their website is pretty good too. The app is free, and you don't have to be online to input stuff (I have a touch so it's great for me). You can lose 10-15lbs in your timeline with diligant calorie counting.
I would also hit the local library for diet books - I've tried the Abs Diet and Best Life diet and had decent success with them.
I lost 35 lbs. in less than 6 months with Sparkpeople.com Keep in mind that those 6 months included all the winter holidays!
No special diet of any kind - just a calorie range and nutritional guidelines.
I cut my portion size, skip "filler" foods and focus on what I really want to eat. And I exercise every day. I found out I need real food, special diets are not for me!
Thank you ladies for all your advice! The more that I read about these programs, the more I feel that a calorie counter like Weight Watchers or Livestrong or Sparkpeople is the best solution in the short term AND long term. Even using the calorie counter for the past two days has really put my diet into perspective. I've heard that losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise and I am really starting to believe it!
I always suggest South Beach. My FH had great success with it (lost approx 70 pounds and has kept it off for almost 2 years). Personally, I would hate calories counting... I feel like it would make me think about food even more, and then I'd get even hungrier... but that's just me.
Just as a follow up - I started using Livestrong.com shortly after this post and I've lost 4 pounds so far!
I am currently on WW and have lost 20lbs but I have had huge success with Livestrong in the past. When I first joined way back in 2005 it was called the daily plate but it was basically the same idea just a different format.
It was my first experience with calorie counting and if you follow it and stick to with it, it does work. I lost 60lbs in a little over a year. Go on the forums, the people there are so wonderful and supportive.

Hi Bees!! Need your help!
I have exactly four months until my wedding day (July 16th, 2011) and I want to lose 10-15 lbs. I have been working out 4-5 days a week but haven't changed my eating habits as well as I should have...what do you think is the best diet for me?
I went on Atkins about eight years ago and lost a lot of weight but I have heard that is usually typical for the FIRST time you try Atkins. I know South Beach is similar to Atkins but I have never tried it myself.
A lot of people have reccomended Weight Watchers to me but I really don't want to spend the money for it if I don't have to (already over budget on our wedding and trying to save $$$ like crazy!). My SIL switched from Weight Watchers to the MyPlate calorie counter through Livestrong.com and she had great success on that program (she was also running 3 miles every other day though).
I am so confused on which diet I should do! I know, in the long term - Weight Watchers and MyPlate are better. BUT I *REALLY* just want to lose that extra 10-15 lbs before the wedding!!!
Any advice you can provide would be so helpful. Thank you ladies :-)
(Not sure if you need to know this but I am 5'3 and 162 lbs)
