Long story, but "Here Without You" by 3 Doors Down is kinda "our" song. About 10 years ago, I was away for awhile and it came on the radio when he came to pick me up.

I went to turn it and he says "You know, this doesn't have to be about a boyfriend and girlfriend. I listened to it every night while you were gone"

He is NOT emotional or sentimental at all. Man of very few words. This meant a lot to me and I remember it like it was yesterday.

BUT.. would this be way weird to play as a father-daughter dance? The lyrics aren't quite what I would love to have. However, I do live 2 hours away from him now and don't see him as often as we'd like, so it still kind of applies.

The line "tonight girl, it's only you and me" really bothers me.. Because I will be with my hubby that night ;)

I think this would be a very sweet song to do. And Everything can't fit perfectly..No song does unless you write it yourself. lol. :)

I like it. I vote yes.

Since I think it will mean a lot to him I say you should do it. I wouldn't think it was weird. I would know what parts of the song meant a lot to you and what parts of the song... don't mean anything :)

I wouldn't worry about  making sure every line fits.  If that's your song, that is the song you should dance to.  I think it will be a great moment, one that you will both cherish that much more because of the sentimental attachment you guys have to the song.
