my FI’s family would be horrified but this is somewhat typical in my family.  my brother and even my dad walk around in their boxers all the time, (but FH and I don’t live there).  i’m always telling my brother to go put clothes on.

I would be horrified, but my FI’s family doesn’t care. I regularly scold my FI for it! Not that he walks around in his underwear, but if he just took a shower or something, he’ll think nothing of walking out to get a pair of shorts or something like that while his brother is over. They do it at his parents’ house, too. They say they grew up together and have seen it all before!

He walks around his parent’s house in his boxers?  I fail to see the horrifying embarassment.  (I mean, they used to wipe his baby bottom…)

My fiance does this sometimes if he forgets to put on his shorts.  It’s usually when he wakes up and it doesn’t really bother me.  If it’s more than just his parents or his brother he always makes sure to put on shorts so I don’t see an issue with it.

It would bother me– it would be embarrassing if something popped out! lol

We live with roommates and my FH only walks around in his boxers when he thinks no one is home. But a lot of the time, our female roommate is home but he just doesn’t know it, so I have to remind him. It would make her very uncomfortable.

Meh… no one in my family does it, but it’s normal for my SO or his dad to walk around in their boxers. I guess everyone is just raised differently. When my SO was living with his parents he would walk around in his boxers all the time. At first I used to get freaked out because we would stop by his parents’ house and his dad would just be walking around in his underwear. His mom just rolled her eyes. LOL. I got used to it though… whatever, we’re all family right?!

My SO grew up in the kind of house where at the cottage they’d go in the lake naked, and get hosed off in the backyard together up until age 10 or 11? He still walks around partially or sometimes fully naked there, and no one bats an eye. I grew up in a house where people lock the door when they go to the bathroom, so it’s all what you’re used to! As long as he respects YOUR family’s privacy rules when your family is around it’s all that matters! 🙂

I dont see anything wrong with it at his parents house. But if he was in his boxers at your parents I would think that is weird.

My DH and his brother would do that at his parents house but I think that’s because they grew up with a family with just boys.  I think if my DH had a sister, I don’t think they would do that.

I do find it weird but then again I grew up with brothers and sisters.

When I am at his parents house and I see his brother walk around in boxers in the morning, I do look away.

I really don’t get guys who think boxers are like shorts so you can wear them in front of other people.  My fiance is that kind of guy and it drives me nuts.  We were on vacation w/ my family one time and he walked out of the bedroom in his boxers in front of MY parents.  I asked him it it would ever be okay if I wore a bra and panties in front of his mom and dad and he started to understand why I was a little upset…  But I’m not convinced that it won’t happen again.
