I thought this might be a fun thread. Do any of you have any weird or odd names that you call your SO?? Do they have a back story or just come from nowhere?
I have two weird names I call my husband. Everyone calls him D.J by his initials because he is a junior. I don’t think I’ve ever called him by his real name in the almost 10 years we’ve been together. But for some odd, weird reason, I started calling him Deuhmuhjay (Dee-Uhh-Muh-Jay) many years ago. I have no freakin clue why either so I can’t really explain to people when they ask.
I also call him Joe. His name does not contain “Joe” what so ever so I’m not really sure why this one stuck either. I think maybe it was because I am known to say weird things like “Sorry Charlie” or “Don’t be such a sensitive Sally” or “Negative Nancy”….etc. I seem to tack on everything with a name. I know I’ve used “What do ya know, Joe?” many times so I think that might be where it comes from?? Not sure. But anywho, it’s not uncommon to hear me yell “What do you want for dinner, Joe?” Or “Are you ready yet, Joe?”. My husband has now started to respond to that name like it was his own. Weird, I know. =)
Anywho, anyone else have weird names??

Lol.. We started making fun of people that call their SO others Boo and Bae. Jokingly he started calling me Boo but now that’s what he calls me. He won’t say it in front of a bunch of people though. It’s an inside thing we do when we do by ourselves. For some odd reason Boo also turned into boost.

I call DH “Charlie” all the time and his name is really Jay. I used to call him Charlie Brown a lot (I don’t even know why, it’s just always been a thing), but now it’s just straight up Charlie. I do it in public a lot too without realizing it and he responds to it, so I’m sure strangers must think his name is really Charlie!

My FI and I go back and forth calling each other “clown.”
It comes from the movie Wedding Crashers when Vince Vaughns character is making balloon animals and one kid says, “make me a bicyle, clown!”…and it’s just stuck since then. Any time we jokingly demand something or ask for something we throw a clown in at the end.

We call each other B. Don’t remember how this started and neither one of our names has a “B” anywhere in it. Now he calls me “FI” (fee) and sometimes a combination of the two which would be “beefy”.

So this may be really weird but I call my SO Poohead…. 😀 I’m a real sweetheart. My SO calls me crazy. We both respond to these in public and in private. We have love dovey nicknames but those we tend to use more sparingly since they mean so much

I call him BB (for Banker Boy) since he works in a bank and that’s where we met.

I mostly just call my DH “babe”. Sometimes I call him “Bob” or “Bobert” (his name is Robert). I will occasionally call him “meathead”.
He calls me “meatsticks” or “meatfeet”. Endearing, I know.
