@princessggg:  Although I love a good princess dress, I think wearing 2 dresses that are extremely similar in style is a little repetitve. If you like the poofiness of Dress #2, why don’t you add more crinoline to Dress #1?

It’s not weird if it makes you feel happy and beautiful. 😀

I think if you add a crini to your current dress (which I LOVE), then you’d get that major Princess feel. I don’t understand the whole two dress thing anyway, I think it’s kind of a waste of money, especially if they are the same style. However, this is YOUR wedding 🙂

Your wedding day is really the only chance you get to wear a long white dress.  I say go for it!  Lots of people change into a less-poofy dress to dance in for the reception anyway.

If it’s the poofiness you are in love with then just add another crionline or two to the dress you already have, that way you can have as much volume as you want or don’t want. You can take it out later for the reception

It’s a little strange, since they’re so similar, but if that’s what you want, you should do it!

I love Belle 217, by the way! The only time I feel a twinge of dress regret is when I see photos of it, including yours! It looks beautiful on you. I had imagined myself buying it, and I think I’d put a hoop skirt underneath it to get more volume. I just got my hoop skirt in the mail a couple of weeks ago, and I love how huge it is! I wear it when my fiance isn’t around =)

Like a PP, I never understood having 2 gowns for your wedding except in the case where one gown is too heavy to wear past the ceremony. I think I would crinoline to the one you have and maybe buy a more casual but still princessy gown for the reception?

The dress you already have is really pretty. I think the skirt on it is nicer than the other one, personally. I’d stick with the one you already have, myself.

However, since your wedding is the one day when you can wear whatever outrageous dress you want, if you want to wear two dresses and you can easily afford it, I feel there’s nothing wrong with getting the other one.

I really love the skirt of the first dress you posted. With the beading and bewejelled corset, it’s much of a party dress that’s the second one.

It’s your wedding so you should wear whatever you like! Personally I would go for two gowns with more of a point of difference, I guess – like a princess ballgown for the ceremony and then a more glamorous mermaid gown for the reception?

I know everyone falls back on “it’s your day, do whatever you want!” with regard to weddings, but … I’m going to be the devil’s advocate and point out that “your wedding” does not equal “every choice is automatically consequence-free.” The OP is asking, “Is this weird?” and wondering if it’s ridiculous (because she suspects that it is, but wants people to tell her that it’s not, to validate her impulses) …

Sorry, OP, but yes, your suspicions are correct, it’s kind of weird and ridiculous. Two dresses is already unavoidably extravagant … I always feel like brides who need two dresses are indecisive, or don’t have enough of a sense of their own style to lock on to the one dress that suits them exactly. That said, if you want to wear two very similar dresses on your wedding day, you can do it, no one’s going to stop you … but that doesn’t make it a good idea.
