I like the look of gable boxes! I'm not sure if we are going to do OOT/Welcome bags yet but if we do, I think we'll go with gable boxes.
Good point about the baskets! I think bags would be just fine.
Very good point about the bulky baskets/boxes etc. I like the idea of using reusable eco-friendly bags, then people can actually use them. They're also compact, so they would be ideal for OOT guests. My sister picked up adorable striped and polka dot ones for me at AC Moore, and I've seen some really cute ones in the dollar section at Target.

I was wondering what other bees have used for welcome, aka out-of-town, baskets? I love the way woven baskets look, but it's not like people are going to pack them in their suitcases and take them home, so they're kinda wasteful. What about gift bags, or those Chinese take-out style boxes.....any other ideas?!!
