New to Weddingbee?  Well, welcome!  We are glad to have you here in one of the most friendly, helpful wedding Communities on the web.

Please say hello and tell us a little something about yourself, your engagement, your wedding plans - anything!

    I'll start:

I'm Lori. I'm the eHarmony Community Manager, overseeing Community for this site and four other sites owned by eHarmony.

Though I am not engaged, or married, I am VERY into weddings.  It gives me great joy to watch everyone's big plans come together.  So I'm very glad to have you all here.

Now it's time to tell us about you!

Hi! Nice to meet you! I'm Stacey, I'm new to posting but have been following wedding bee for a year or so now! I have been very into weddings ever since I was 10 and my oldest brother got married (his wife had no hand in planning their wedding cause she said she didn't care and it came out very............different so I vowed that I would plan mine starting early so it wouldn't be so awful!) I am not engaged but know my boyfriend has been looking at rings so I am as excited as ever to be a part of wedding bee! I too love seeing everyone's plans come together and love seeing the diversity of bees on here!

    Hi there.

I am also a Newbee (cant help it). Yes, this is addicive...I have only known about weddingbee for a week but have been logging in multiple times a day.

As for my wedding...we are getting hitched on June 5,2010 in Nashville. We have been engaged for  3 months now but I just started planning b/c I just complete grad school. Anyways, I will be doing lots of DYI projects so I am excited to have a beehive fun of unbias opinions to run stuff by! With that, it seems like there are some very creative ladies here who know a lot about wedding (I am clueless) so this is a gift!

I am a Newbee too. My other half proposed in Feb and we are getting married September 27, 2009. We are planning our wedding Stateside (PA) and my fiance is in London so its been a very interesting three thousand mile planning event to say the least. We meet when I was working in London a few years back and actually interviewed him (I am a photojournalist), later his company hired me and we fell madly in love. I moved back stateside all of a sudden over a year ago but our long distance relationship kept going strong thanks to skype and countless cheap flight hunting.  He proposed and we have been boucing back and forth planning a wedding in my hometown.

    Hi, all.

So nice to have a place to say hello.  I actually just got engaged a week ago, though I've been secretly reading weddingbee (and planning things in my head) for quite some time :)  It was such a relief to not have to keep all these things a secret anymore--not to mention to finally, finally be engaged to the man I love.

My fiance and I are both PhD students, planning a wedding for Chicago in summer 2011 with a very, very small budget.  I'm looking forward to talking to other bees as we begin this cazy planning journey.

Hey everyone!  I'm a newbie too! Recently engaged on May 8.  FI was so romantic.  He took me to DC and proposed while we were paddleboating in the tidal basin (we were surrounded by these beautiful monument!).  Then that night he took me to this wonderful embassy gala.  Overall a perfect wonderful evening!

So far wedding bee has been super helpful helping navigate this whole wedding thing.  I had no idea it was sooo complicated.  We're planning a wedding for next year on May 8th.  We're hoping to rent out a house in the Florida Keys and I think we're very close to finding one.

Anyway, thanks for welcoming all the newbies, including me!

I'm also a "newbee"--I found about about WeddingBee when I accidentally stumbled upon an old high school friend of mine who was a blogger here (Mrs. Jasmine) while I was googling mehndi parties a few weeks ago. I saw her profile photo (which she had also used on Facebook for a time), and I thought, "HEY! Who is pretending to be [Jasmine]? I should tell her!!" before I realized it was an alias and she was not an imposter. :)

I've been reading WB pretty much daily since, and it's given me so many ideas for my own wedding (next March!).

Hi there!  I am also a "Newbee!"  We became engaged on vacation in Las Vegas in Feb.  I am planning a wedding for Summer 2010 in New York.  Me and my FH have been together 4 years as of next month and are so excited to plan our wedding!  I am excited to start the planning since I have no preconceived notions about what kind of wedding I would like!  It should be a fun, exciting journey!

    Hello everyone!

I'm also a Newbee!  But I've been following Weddingbee for years!  We got engaged just over the Memorial day weekend and just starting the planning.  I honestly thought I already knew everything I wanted for the wedding, but now that it's actually the time to start planning, I realize how lost I am.  I'm just grateful for Weddingbee since I have complete faith that the members and the site will make the process more enjoyable.

Hello ladies!! I am kind of new here, I’m from Chile and I’ll stay here until very close to our wedding, I’m waiting for visa papers so my fiancée is in the States waiting for me, ohh at this point I hate long distance, so all of you should always be very very thankful because you have the one you love by your side :( or at least not half world around distance. I found WeddingBee while browsing around when I started our wedding planning blog, well the main purpose of the blog is to make easier my job on showing everyone ( family and friends here, and his family and our friends there) everything that went through my mind, cause emailing things back and forth did not work for me hehe,We have been together for almost 3 years now and we are planning for a December-January wedding, but it all depends on the papers, not us... LAME!!. So we have the place and everything, but the date will be the last thing we will know( It’s like planning backwards!)I think this site is amazingly helpful and I’m loving it!!!, Thank you to all of you brides to be, that are willing to share the process and also the ones that know so much about it!! Good luck to all on this amazing journey!!

I love Weddingbee!  We got engaged at the end of March and I added the blog to my RSS.  I didn't figure I'd start posting, etc...that was, until I learned how much fun it was to talk with other brides and get ideas!  Really, the community here is amazing.

We've been together two years next month.  We were best friends for a year before that, and I still remember the moment when I realized that I was completely and totally in love with my FI and that he was the guy for me.  Such a happy (and overwhelming, honestly) moment!  It's been wonderful since then.

We're planning an outdoor wedding at my parents' home on September 18th.  Vintage, rustic, outdoorsy, romantic...I can't wait!

Looking forward to getting to know all of you better.  Happy planning!

    Hello!!

I'm Ann, I live in NC but am planning a wedding in MN for June 2010. I came across The Bee as I was searching for vendors - oddly enough I ran into HBowar, who was talking about a wedding in my small SMALL hometown - turns out she is one of my bridesmaids' cousins!! Small world!!

Love all the boards and advice! I have a lot of the major stuff planned for our wedding (thanks to lots of help from family/friends), but I LOVE reading ideas for little details and DIY projects because I think it can totally make a wedding a million times more memorable!! Can't wait to post with ya'll! :) AND CONGRATS ON YOUR UPCOMING WEDDINGS!!!!

    paigely612    6/12/2010   Rochester, NY

    Hello!

I'm a newbee, but not newly engaged-just over a year now. The wedding is on June 12, 2010, and we can't wait! We met my first day of college. He is a year older than me and was helping with the freshmen orientation program (he says it gave him the chance to get all the good girls before everyone else got to school haha!). So after being together almost every day for 3 years, the last year has been difficult. I was in NY finishing my degree, moving every 5 weeks to a new clinical site, while he was in NC completing his first year in the biophysics PhD program at Wake Forest. I just graduated, and can't find a job down there, but I did get one in NYC, and he can't transfer, so it's looking like another year apart. So far, we have the reception and photographer, but no church; colors, attendants, guestlists are all coming together. It would be nice to hear from other brides who are planning the wedding apart from their hubbies, and how they are managing it! He really wants to stay involved. In addition, I'm dealing with a future monster in law -it's been a nightmare, but thankfully the rest of his huge family is wonderful!

Hi everyone! I am also a "newbee" and live in Easton, PA. My fiance proposed to me on our 2 year (and one day :) ) anniversary in Spain and we are planning a wedding for July 2010. I had no idea that blogging would be so addicting, and I'm nervous about posting here because...goodness, I should get SOMETHING done every day other than being on the computer, right? :) But really, I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's ideas and hopefully getting some feedback on my own. If anyone wants to be blog buddies, my blog is http://anaquajuel.blogspot.com. Can't wait!

    Hi there,

Another NewBee - My FH proposed back in March @ the cafe where we had our first date.  Awww.  :)  We were originally planning on a long engagement, but we found a venue that we love & got an offer we couldn't refuse - so a 10 month engagement and a January 2010 wedding it is!  Though now I have to get off my butt and start planning! My fh and I just had a baby, we knew we wanted to live the rest of our lives together before our little boy was born. BUT I wasn't interested in getting into a wedding dress with my big belly lol. We have set the date for June 5th 2010. We are having our wedding at Salish Lodge next to Snoqulamie falls. We are both really excited about it..ok ok, I might be more excited about planning it then he is .Welcome Newbees!!! : wedding Icon Biggrin

I know it's a year away, but with having a baby at home I have lots of free time after bed time to search things out on the internet! I've bought my wedding gown (it arrives  next month!) It's a beautiful Paloma Blanca! Have my colors, booked my photoghapher, have the wedding party all annouced and booked the florist. A part of me wish it was closer so people wouldn't think I was such a nut for being so planned so far in advanced.

I look forward to getting to know everyone here and getting some great ideas!

I've been on and off WB for about two months now, but on Sunday my boyfriend proposed! I actually just posted about how he did so if you want to read there you can...quite long! Oops! I actually met my boyfriend fiance online so I thought it was funny to find that Lori is from one of those companies.

I have a good 15 months until the wedding date, but like most women on here, I hope to be a Bee. We'll see what happens! Please check out my story at the link provided above :)

Hello Everyone! I'm a NewBee as well. I got engaged in Feb. and have been obsessed with wedding planning ever since. We're having a shorter engagement (5.5 months) but it's all coming together very nicely. Our wedding date is Aug. 1st and we are really starting to count down the days. I grew up in Ohio and lived in the awesome city of Portland Oregon for ten years, then I met my FI and made the crazy decision to move to northern AZ. It's been a wild ride but it's also been a lot of fun!

Hello! I am also a "Newbee". The boy and I have been a whirlwind relationship, meeting in September of last year, ironically at a wedding. In May, we got engaged in Las Vegas, at Paris, ontop the Eiffel Tower. Our wedding is planned for September 4, 2010, but I am trying to convince him to change the date, just so we have more time. :)

I think I'm still a newbee. FH and I got engaged in early March, and are getting married August 8th. We've been doing the long distance thing for almost 3 years, so it will be lovely to be actually living in the same city after the wedding! I found Weddingbee after getting a little disenchanted with another wedding website which shall remain nameless. You ladies are much more fun. My planning is mostly done, so I just like hanging out here and gossiping. :-)

I will be doing lots of DIY projects for the wedding and love getting inspiration from these boards!! My feel for the wedding is vintage with lots of style... Can't wait for our big day!
