Hello everyone, sorry this is so late, but we had our LITTLE GIRL on August 11th! We are so happy we were team green!
We induced at 39.5 weeks due to large measurements that you may remember from my other posts. At 36 weeks the ultrasound measured 8 lbs 13 ounces. We went into the hospital on August 9th at 8 pm for cervidil, my water broke naturally the next morning and labor progressed great throughout the day without pitocin until about 3 pm when I got the epidural so they also slowly started pit. I was 8 cm at 6 pm, all the way to 10 cm by 10 pm (slept through transition because of the stadol).
Started pushing at 10 pm, not making much progress 3 hours later at 1 am so we finally said we wanted to see the OB because we were worried baby was stuck. Pushed with OB for 25 minutes and out SHE came on 8/11/11! She was 9 lbs 6 ounces and 21 inches! I only tore a tiny bit in my labia. She was placed immediately on my chest and stayed there for an hour which gave us time to nurse for about 20 minutes before she was cleaned up and measured.
Stayed in the hospital for 2.5 days and were discharged totally healthy! We are doing great at home! I got some really bad blisters on my right breast so we started pumping for about 48 hours on that side to let it heal. The $300 spent on the Medela Freestyle was worth EVERY penny!
She is living in her Aden + Anais swaddle blankets. They are perfect for the summer heat! She also loves her Cloud B sleep giraffe, the white noise really helps calm her down and get to sleep!
Wow, that's a lot of pushing... but worth it with such a beautiful little girl! Love those chubby cheeks!
Yah! Congrats! She is adorable with those cute little cheeks all sleep! :) Can you describe the moment when they said "It's a girl!" (I'm Team Green too so I have to ask.LOL)
