My boyfriend left this morning, for his 5 month long stint in Florida for work (about an 8 hour car ride). He won’t be home until January 4th and I won’t see him until September 25th. That’s a month and a half away and I’m freaking out.
We’ve dated for nearly 9 years, lived together for 3…this sucks. I feel like it’s going to DRAG by!
Feeling a bit depressed, we’ve never really been apart longer than a week.
How do I get through this?

Me and my SO have done LDR for a while.. I went to college in NC, then went to Florida for 5 months to work.. Its tough but you guys got to communicate. I hated not seeing him when I wanted and kissing and hugging but we just skyped.. talked everynight.. and attempted visits once a month in NC and only twice the whole time i was in florida! Just stay strong and occupy your time

Well my hubby is in the Military and he has been gone for 15 months. I think you will be able to survive. It’s goes by really slow at first, but 25 September will be here before you know it.

@Ashley1281: I don’t know where you find the strength to hold out for 15 months!
I’m really tired of hearing people be so darn positive, saying it’ll go by ast, you’ll be fine, etc. So it’s nice to hear you say it’ll go by slow! Because that’s the truth, I feel like everyone is just lying to me.
Is there anything in particular that makes it easier for you on tough days? Is it really just the beginning that’s miserable or is it pretty even keel throughout the entire process?
