- Wedding: August 2013 - The Liberty House
Just thought I’d share a funny story about how my surprise shower is no longer a surprise. I was talking to my step mother this morning and the relevant part of the conversation went something like this:
Her: “Your Dad gave me an e-mail with the link to your wedding website and it said your shower is on May 18th at some restaurant. Is the information on the website?”
Me: “I’m not sure, no one has mentioned anything to me about a shower. The website wouldn’t have any information because I created it.”
Her: “Am I supposed to invite anyone?”
Me: “Like I said, I didn’t even know there was a shower. It was probably supposed to be a surprise. So I really don’t know. But you can e-mail my mom.”
I had to stop myself from cracking up, because she’s always trying to prove that she’s smart and cultured, and let’s just say we haven’t seen any evidence of either of those traits yet. According to my Fiance, invitations haven’t even gone out yet and the reservation was booked two weeks ago.
I’m not upset, since I don’t love surprises, but I also don’t want to tell my mother because she will be so bummed that I know. She even made a plan with my Fiance to fool me into going out. People love surprise parties, so I’ll just have to practice my surprised face and hone my acting skills.
