I’ve been reading the bee for over a year when a friend got married. Mr. B and I have been together almost 4 years and are planning to get married after we complete grad school, so still a good 2-3 years out. I’m not planning at all, I don’t even really consider myself a “waiting” bride. But, out of…curiosity, I guess, I was checking out JCrew and DB to see what kind of wedding dresses they sell and I. Want. This. Dress. !!! It is sooo perfect for me! And it is killer to know that OBVIOUSLY I can’t get it and it likely won’t exist by the time I get engaged. Ugh.

Resist the urge! There are so many gowns out there you are bound to find something when the time comes.

Yes, I know. Definitely learned I can’t do that again!

That particular dress may not be for sale at David’s Bridal, but a similar style will be available somewhere! That’s a classic, timeless look. When the time comes, you should be able to find something similar. Don’t worry too much! Also, your tastes may change in 2-3 years. I always thought I’d get married in a simple chiffon gown, but the dress I bought isn’t chiffon or simple!

I tried it on early in my dress search. PM me if you want me to make you feel better about not being able to get it! (Can’t do it here b/c its def. snarky and sort of mean).

Oh the temptation!
I say save a picture of the dress or anything that you think you love so you can remember what you were thinking before. If your tastes haven’t changed it probably won’t be difficult to get something similar.

If it makes you feel better I found a dress YEARS before I ever thought I’d get married. When the time came I found similar styles and exactly what I wanted in quite a few places but when I tried them on they didn’t look good. I ended up with something TOTALLY different then what I originally wanted so badly. So…they will have those styles but you may find something else you love just as much if not more.
