Well, we may have to change venues again.

I think you can totally transform that space, just make sure its within your budget. Sometimes decor can go wayyy out of budget.

I know how you feel about the totally drab reception space, we are using a basic brick building, all the decor we must do ourselves!

@marinesfiance:  I actually don’t think the walls of your venue will be too harsh, esp. if you are doing uplighting – it can really transform any type of space.

Have you thought about what you are doing for the ceiling, if anything?

We are doing a rustic-romance theme, less rustic, more romance. Lots and lots and lots of candles, banquet table seating for that intimate feeling.

@marinesfiance:

 We’re using 4′ chandeliers and organza to line our ceiling, sort of like this.. but with less organza, there will probably only be 2 on each side of each chandalier going to the outer walls.

I want to do some sort of backdrop, but so far I havent found one within budget.. I’d like it to cover the entire wall behind the head table [about 40ft].

@marinesfiance:  Yeah, I was thinking about the pipe & drape but trying to do things without renting anything [rental place is 2 hours away], just can’t see spending 4 hours driving just to rent some stuff.

Or maybe I can create my own piping.. my brother is pretty good with making things!
