A while ago, I fell in love with the idea of the thumbprint tree and knew I had to have it at our wedding! But then, I also I saw someone who did a 'well wishes jar' and thought it was a really neat idea since the traditional guest book just allows for signatures (same as the thumbprint tree). So I thought I could get the best of both worlds and have both! But is that a little too much?

I would have the well wishes done at the reception and place cards at each place setting with instructions at the tables of what to do with them along with some pens, so people dont have to stand in line..What do all of you bees think? I could REALLY use some input....

    THANKS BEES! :)

    We did both :)

It was fun and people really seemed to like it.

I really like the idea of doing the well wishes at the reception tables, that's a good activity for any downtime.

Right now I just have a thumbprint tree, but I'm now thinking about adding the well-wishes thing. People may do one or the other, but it gives them an option if they feel like they want to say more or like they don't know what they would say.

If you make it advice and well wishes, I bet more people would do both.  People love giving advice. :)

I think it would be perfectly fine to do both. I'm still deciding but we may end up going the same route as you!
