We were going to have my hubby’s dad do it.  He said he wasn’t qualified.  Hubby asked his favorite pastor.  He was sick.  So, we went with the current pastor of hubby’s church.

Where are you located? I actually just googled “wedding officient”, and then our city. I also had a few recommendations from family members. Do you know anyone in your area who has had a non-denominational ceremony in your area?

Have a friend or close family member do it.  My best friend is a guy– so instead of having a “Man of Honor” We decided to ask him to perform our ceremony.

Word of Mouth.  A friend got me in touch with someone who performed ceremonies for a few other people.

I used google and found a list from the province of all registered officiants and went from there. We actually found that our officiant lives about 10 blocks from us and we are getting married at our house. Nice and close for her. Smile

We searched on Wedding Wire and found a few contenders. We’re not really having a religious ceremony either. We contacted a couple of the options and went with the first one we met with. She seems like a perfect fit for us.

Wedding website reviews–could have been through here or something. We were having a hard time finding someone to do a custom, secular ceremony until we found them.

Google!  Do you have a preference for male or female?  That’s where we started since we knew we wanted a male.
