Hello bees! I went to Alfred Angelo with my sister and my friend today to try on dresses. I am so excited to finally have dress pics to share!
I tried on 7 dresses total but am only posting three because these are the three I really liked. Since I’d never tried on dresses before, I tried three different silhouettes to get an idea of what looks best on me. I’d love to get the bees’ opinions, so I included a poll 🙂
My friend is the one who suggested Alfred Angelo. It’s where she got her wedding dress and she knew I had been eyeing some of AA’s Disney dresses. I’m not a Disney fanatic by any means, but I gotta admit, those dresses are lovely 🙂
I tried on both Belle dresses. I liked the original one better.
(Please excuse my strange arm tan. I spend too much time driving with my arm out the window!)
I have to say though, that is a TON of dress. It was HEAVY, and when my consultant first took it out of the bag, it just kept spilling tulle out like a never-ending river of fabric. I loved how it looked, but I wasn’t comfortable with the heaviness and width of the princess/ballgown skirt at all.
Here it is with the optional sleeve.
It is a gorgeous gown, and it was my sister’s favorite. Definitely a contender!
Next up, an A-line with an asymmetrical waistline. I. LOVE. THIS. DRESS.
We have a lot of pictures of it, haha. It was my friend’s favorite. The style # is 2310. Love it!
Last was a beautiful organza and lace mermaid dress. I really loved this one because it hugged my figure and made me look a little sexy. My entourage did not like it at all, and since they were in charge of the camera, I didn’t get as many pics of this one as I would have liked. I really liked my curves in it. I tend to be self-conscious about my body, so I don’t wear tight, form-fitting clothing. It felt AMAZING to put on a curve-hugging dress and actually feel beautiful and sexy in it. Not gonna lie, I am a little mad at them for putting their personal opinions of the dress over my own and letting it affect how many pics they took. I only got two halfway decent pics of this one. I might go back and try it on again and ask the consultant to take photos so I actually have some good ones of it. It’s style # 2083.
Look at that booty! 😀
Overall it was a great experience. I didn’t get the feeling that any of these dresses were “the one,” but I did love these three dresses in particular.
Dresses I tried on but didn’t take pics of were the newest Belle dress, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White. They were all lovely, but either didn’t fit right or had details I didn’t really like.
What do you think, bees?
