    Warning of TMI alert:

My last bc pill was on 3/7, like clockwork I got my period on 3/10-3/14, now it's today and I'm getting a lot of discharge, is this normal? I usually get hardly any but today it's a lot, I have a liner on. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm using fertility friend to track when I'm most fertile (to AVOID getting pregnant) and it says I'm on the 3rd day of my "Forecasted Fertile Days" and tomorrow is my "Forecasted Possible Ovulation Days" could/does this have anything to do with it? Also my ovaries hurt or the area where they are, when I cough it hurts and is sore, also I sat a certain way and it just hurt?

Also how long after you went off the pill did your cycle get regular? I'm hoping mine is regular next month but I'm not betting on it.

Also just an FYI I was worried about breaking out like a teenager, didn't happen yet thankfully! I've gotten a few small blemishes but no more than usual so I'm thankful for that!

Sorry for the weird question, I haven't been off bc in over 10 years and forgot what the heck happens when it's not planned out for me.

@Soon2beeMrsM: That sounds right. Especially if it is close to your egg's special trip.

Interesting, it's weird I just never remembered having this when I was younger!

I had the same thing. My last period was 2/6-2/10, and I went off the pill at that time, and about 2 weeks later as I was approaching ovulation there is definitely an increase in cervical mucus. I never remembered it pre-pill either!

I was excited that I was (presumably) ovulating that quickly, but I never got my period. It's been over a month, nearly two, and I'm still waiting for it. It really does take some time for your cycle to regulate.

    Good luck!

@MissMaine- It's crazy that I don't remember this happening before, I'm glad it's not just me! Have you had any other symptoms off the pill? So you've been off 1 month more than me and you never get your period? spotting anything? Are you TTC?

Oh how I wish I could go off the pill!  I've been on so many kinds for about 5 years now.  I would love to just get back on track and take a break from the hormones and their side affects.  I do remember the pain you're talking about during ovulation though, and I have cramps and pains like that on the pill while my doctor says it's nothing??? So frustrating!

@ThefutureMrsLamkin- Why not take a break from it? I'm getting off it for good now, I'm sick of the side effects! I don't have these pains when I'm on the pill, just cramps so this is very different for me.

@Soon2beeMrsM: No other serious symptoms, I just kind of feel like I've been PMS-ing for 3 weeks, haha! I was also scared of the breakouts, but I haven't had any yet, knock on wood! I did drop about 10 pounds which is a great!!I had spotting EVER SO SLIGHTLY (really not even noticeable, but I was paying more attention b/c I was waiting for my period) the week that I would have had my period if I was still on the pill. But nothing to write home about!!

We're not TTC for about another year (just went back to condoms), but I wanted to get off the pill and off the hormones to get back to normal in preparation for it, and it was also causing me to be a crazy hormonal bitch =)

@Soon2beeMrsM: I would love too, but he's not a fan of other methods of birth control and we really can't take a risk right now on having an accident!  I am going to discuss it with him again, cause the side affects such anymore.  No drive, constant cramps and just feeling "off."

@TheFutureMrsLamkin: Hahaha yesssss! I'd really talk to your guy about condoms though, my FI always HATED them, but realized quickly that getting used to them worked out better for him in the long run than having to deal with my crazy hormones!! I was such a crazy person haha, I don't know how he put up with me. I was mean.  I feel so much better now that I'm off. It's like this big weight lifted and I'm back to myself. And I actually WANT to have sex now, so he's happily obliging on the condom thing haha!!! Good luck girl :)

@MissMaine- Did you just drop 10 lbs naturally or in addition to working out? I'm hoping it helps lose a few lbs, although I"m not counting on it!

@TheFutureMrsLamkin- I agree with MissMaine, talk to FI about it. I had no drive and I've only been off it for a few weeks and I already see improvement thank goodness! I also was very hormonally bitchy!

When I went off the pill for awhile a few years ago, my cycle NEVER came back.  I think I had one super light one in over a year before I went back on the ring.  I totally remember having a month with really bad discharge mid-cycle, but that was it.  I think I went through like two tampons in sixteen months or something like that.

I had a bunch of other things going on at the time (terrible ssri withdrawal, not eating enough) so that might have had something to do with it, though.  I never had it checked into partly because there were other things going on and partly because since I wasn't ttc or even having much sex, it wasn't really an issue.

@Soon2beeMrsM: I just got off the pill at the beginning of February, and my cycle has returned to normal.  That cervical fluid you see is what helps the sperm to travel to your egg.  It actually is quite normal, and required for fertility.  My recommendation is to get the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility.  It will seriously help, and answer any and all questions you have about getting off the pill and trying to not get pregnant.  I'm using it, and it has informed me a lot about my body and helped me to make sure my body is returning to normal after the pill. :)

Congrats on quitting BCP!! Those hormones suck :P

@Soon2beeMrsM: It literally just came off after stopping the pill. As far as the sex drive goes, I was off it for like 3 days and had 100% improvement.

@Entangled- wow 2 tampons in 16 months, what a money saver! lol.

@LadySapphire- Thanks, hopefully I can download it on my kindle :) Yes BCP as it turns out was great when I was younger but now that I'm married and almost a few years away from 30 I want to get back to natural hormones and reduce the risk of blood clots which is a health scare I had awhile back.

@MissMaine- Gosh I hope that I drop some lbs, it would be great. I'm seeing a lot of improvement in the sex drive thankfully. Before i had pretty much none :(

@bees off BCP- Do you take prenatal vitamins or folic acid? Even though I'm not TTC, my dr said I should take one or the other b/c folic acid may reduce a woman’s risk of having a child with a brain or spinal birth defect if it's taken before conception. I'm picking some up after work, even though we aren't trying it may happen and I'd like to be prepared if it does.

@Soon2beeMrsM: I'm definitely an odd case, but I didn't get my first period after I went off the pill for 84 days. So it was quite a long time. I also really broke out in month 2 and 3 off the pill, so that might also be coming later. I noticed my hair got really thin and damaged too.

Now I'm 9 months off the pill and I've basically gotten back to normal. My breakouts are still far worse than they used to be, but my periods are much more regular. I was on the pill for 11 years.

@2peasinapod- Wow I really hope that doesn't happen to me! My skin is already bad but I don't want to start breaking out, also my hair is so thick it's insane. I've been on it for 12 years so I'm glad to be off it. 84 days WOW, I hope I get mine next month.

@Soon2beeMrsM: I forgot to mention that I also have PCOS, but never had absent periods (pre-pill). There's no reason to believe that I wouldn't go back to regular periods once I got off, so I don't think that's the cause of the delay. I'm trying not to stress at all about it, because I know that will only delay it more. I'm stressed enough with my wedding in 2 months!!

@MissMaine- Yes don't stress! It will arrive (hopefully not at wedding/honeymoon time!) eventually! I'm not stressed about not getting it b/c we arent TTC but I just would like to get it and be regular that's all :)

It it goes on for too long or you find yourself freakin' out then please consult your doctor asap.

As for you not experiencing this before but you are now, well it could just be because that was TEN years ago. Your hormones have changed considerably since then. So don't compare the two times.

@Sasha2011- I will consult a doctor if I don't get my cycle regular thanks for the tip. Also I am not stupid I understand that 10 years is different from now and so is my body but can you watch the snark and caps lock when you say 'So don't compare the two times." I'm not a moron I was just stating that it is different now than it was then.

@MrsMaine: I definatly want to, especially for that reason! It drives him nuts that I'm not climbing all over him all the time, I barely have any drive at all. SUCKS! And YES! I'm kinda mean too. And bitchy, I feel like I "growl" a lot at people...I'd like to fix that as well!  Guess FI and I will be chatting soon about this! YIKES! LOL
