this may be tmi, but its worrying me! I had a really bad stomach ache, and I just went to the bathroom and took a lil poo, nothing big, and peed. When I went to wipe, the toilet had TONS of blood in it! I dont' know what its from!!!! I am 23+ wks and now am freaking out! Has this happened to anyone else? I haven't noticed anymore yet, so I have no idea what its from.
Not to be even more TMI - but are you sure the blood wasn't from your rectum?
Did you have sex recently?
Does it feel like cramping or just like you have to go poo?
I would call your Dr. right away just incase
Regardless of which it's coming from, you should call your dr. immediately.
Was there blood when you wiped too? Also, more TMI, but did you eat anything really red recently like beets? They can turn your stool red, which can be mistaken for blood in the toilet.
If you're sure you were bleeding, I would call your doctor just in case.
Call your doc or go to the ER. Even if it's nothing serious, I'd rather be overcautious. I was very constipated with a pregnancy and got hemorrhoids early on which bled with bowel movements. It could be something like that, but I was told to go to the ER to be sure.
@oracle: I don't know, that is the thing! It wasn't anything big that hurt or anything, and I can't tell!
@Eva Peron: No sex recently. It felt like cramps, but that has been the way it has been during this pregnancy. I get really bad cramps, then have to go to the bathroom....
I am going to go back to the bathroom and check in a minute to see if there is more blood. I think I am anemic right now too, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it?
I immediately thought about maybe being constipated and having bleeding from hemmorhoids, too.
Regardless, you should call your doctor and get checked out. At the very least, it'll be a reassurance that you're ok.
@jjmomma: Did your hemorrhoids bleed whenever you would take a poo?
As virtually everyone else has said: CALL THE DOC!! You REALLY don't want to second guess this kind of thing. Seriously.
Call the doctor now! If something is going on with the pregnancy, every second counts.
Call your OB immediately! Not to unduly scare you, but that's how my miscarriage started.
@Rosie Girl: Yes, once the constipated poo happened, I got bleeding every time I pooed. I was scared the first time b/c it dripped in the toilet... not like a period, but enough to drip. (I had really awful hemorrhoids and constipation)
Call your doc or just go the ER... to be sure.

I would call your doctor and go to the ER right away. I have had many friends bleed during pregnancy and everything turned out fine - but a McBride is right that every second counts.
Even if it dripped, it can definitely be from your rectum. But that being said, definitely call the doc! Getting checked out ASAP is important!
I agree with the others, please call your OB now.

I wouldnt worry to much. This happened to me last week and I am 23 weeks today. It hurt when i went number two and I almost felt like something rip (tmi!!) and i was constipated. It was because I wasnt drinking enough water. I was kind of alarmed at how much blood there was. It was hemroids... oh pregnancy... what a beautiful time.
I hope everything is okay. I hope you are either on the phone with or at your doctor or the hospital right now. Please keep us updated. Thinking about you :)
I have a bad hemorrhoid, which is nice considering what it could be! Thank you guys for all your comments, I was kind of freaking out!
@Rosie Girl: SO happy to hear this. Which sounds weird considering you have a bad hemerrhoid...but you get it :)
@Rosie Girl: Phew! I have to say that hemmorhoids are new for me considering I never got them with DD, so ummm, yeah, it's was a little scary at the beginning. I'm glad everything turned out ok!

Thank you! I know, i'm excited i have a hemmorhoid! They are scary becuase you look down and see lots of blood, but at least I know its ok!

Can I ask how you knew it was a hemmorhoid? Did you go to the docs?
Just saw this thread and am so relieved that it was nothing serious. Phew. Next time - go to ER or call doctor right away please!

Sounds like exactly what happened with me... oh, the fun of the pregnancy hemorrhoid! Did you end up going to your doc or the er?
I did talk to my dr! I told her what happened and explained all the color and everything. She said it is just a low internal one, but if I start getting really dark blood, then a GI would have to look becuase it means its something more internal. She gave me a bunch of ways to help loosen my stools to prevent it from bleeding like that again!
