Congratulations- that's totally exciting! I remember the pet deprivation days of undergrad. It will be SO nice to have a dog back in your life again, if that's what you're used to. I'm looking for housing in the Philly area right now, and you're right- that's a really great deal! Congrats!
Wow, what a lucky find! I can relate, being a college student, dealing with city prices for apartment rentals. The boyfriend and I are graduating in May and finally moving in together in August, and I can't wait! Good luck to you guys!
Congrats! That's a great find and sounds like so much fun!
WOW! That's amazing!!!! Congrats on finding such an awesome deal!
Thanks everyone!! I'm obviously really excited. :D The only sad part is when we're going to have to move out...
That is so awesome!!! and awwe yeah it'll be hard to leave the pup but so awesome to get to experience that!! take LOTS of pictures!! :)
That is super-cool! Reminds me of the movie The Holiday (you know, the one with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet?) where they switch houses for a short time. It could be fun living in someone else's house! Especially if they have an awesome tv & appliances :P but you're right, when you have to move it will be a bummer - but don't think of that right now! Just enjoy living there and save up some money while you can!
@Boston Bee: FI has one semester left, I have two (though it's both our fifth years of college...thank you transfer credit failage, on my part). So we wanted to find a place for us both to live just the first half of the year, then I'll find another place for the second half.
Thanks everyone! We went to see the house today and it's really cute, with great front and back yards! But we were just house-stalking, haven't gotten to meet with the owners yet, heh. Maybe tomorrow.

...for a semester. Heh.
I just had to share my excitement though...FI and I have been looking for affordable off-campus housing for next year at my college (something not very readily available, affordable or no!) and I was BOWLED OVER when I saw that two professors who are going on sabbatical next semester are offering their house to two students for only $600/month ($300/person), the cost of their utilities. Part of the package? You watch their dog! I am SO psyched because I have major pet deprivation while at school; I've never lived without pets before college and I just miss them soooo much. We are amazed that we found such a great deal. We're saving a ton of money and getting an entire BEAUTIFUL three-bedroom house with a yard for only $600/month! We are so excited that we don't have to go out and buy enough furniture to furnish an apartment, too...we were hoping to do that only once we knew how big the space we'll have in grad school is! Well, we have to be approved for this, but it seems like we'll get it.
THIS IS SUCH A WIN I AM SO EXCITED.
