So excited–DH and I have agreed to renew our vows in summer 2015, probably in August. I want it to kind of be a celebration of our children, so we will have our kids there, their godparents, and maybe one or two other close friends, but not really any “guests”. We had a nice wedding with 120 guests when we got married in 2008 and I would feel weird asking everyone to come to another event (and then things would be a lot more expensive, too =) ). So we will do a renewal ceremony in a church and then a nice dinner for the few adults that are involved. I will wear a wedding gown and veil for the ceremony, and I’ll probably do flowers and cake with dinner. I know that some people think that wedding gowns and veils aren’t appropriate for vow renewals . . . but this is part of the advantage of not having guests, I don’t need to worry about what other people think. =) And I adore wedding dresses, I am so excited to go shopping!
Anyone else renewing in summer 2015?

My husband and I are going to renew our vows January of 2016. It will be our 25th anniversary. Everyone know we’ve been married for years and we mostly just want to celebrate it with a party. Don’t get me wrong, we will have a short ceremony in which we will exchange vows that we will write. We are not asking for anything from anyone other than to show up and have a good time! As far as attire goes…I say wear what you want! Personally, I’m looking for a colored dress. I’m thinking of buying a bridal dress and having it professionally dyed.

Congratulations on nearly 25 years of marriage!
You can always buy a wedding dress that isn’t white.
I’m not expecting any gifts, however I’m told that I cannot stop people from bringing any.
