Take a cab to the Fish Fry–it’s a local spot full of bars, clubs, and restaurants–if it’s close enough to where you’re staying.  We didn’t stay at an all inclusive, so drinks and food were very expensive at our hotel (Atlantis), and we got hammered off ONE $6 cocktail at Fish Fry and ate some yummy local food.

We just came back from the Sandals Royal Bahamian! We just used the bus to get to the fish fry and downtown. It’s very convenient and they’re very friendly. The bus stop is right outside of the Sandals resort.

We didn’t do any excursions really. We just did the free snorkel sessions Sandals offered. We did split our week between Sandals and Atlantis though. I would recommend making a day trip over to Atlantis to check out their water park if you’re into water slides. Also their Snorkel the Ruins was AMAZING! Worth every penny!

@bretonvirgniia:  DH and I went there on our honeymoon and had a BLAST!  We were so lazy and didn’t do any excursions, which is what we wanted.

We’re going back in June and plan to be a bit more active this time around.  I really want to go to Rose Island.  We might explore the fort that is there.  And this time we are definitely spending a day or two at Atlantis.

@bretonvirgniia:  They’re not the same beach. You have to check out and back in whenever you leave the property. I think it was about 5 minutes away on the bus.

We went there on our honeymoon in November. We loved it and had an amazing time! We didn’t go on any excursions because things were still very slow after the hurricane, but we did jetskiing with the locals (right next door) and took the ferry over to Sandals Cay island (I think that’s what it’s called). We LOVED our stay there! I hope you enjoy it.. I’m jealous!!!
