OMG...finally, we're taking our first step towards our wedding! I hope its all good! I'm very nervous about the meeting, and about whether or not we'll be able to get married as soon as we want to. Wish me luck!

I'm also worried about cost! I don't know how much it is, but after reading all these WB posts, it looks like people spend around 1K on church fees. I'm hoping ot have this wedding on no more than 5k...spending 1/5 of that on a wedding is a little much :(

One of my friend's had a Catholic wedding for about 3K in Chicago. It is possible. It does mean cutting costs in other areas, but it can be done.

Wow, $1k for church fees? I've never been to Boston, but that sounds like a lot. I think mine was maybe a couple hundred?

I'm back! The meeting was a lot better than I thought. I was really nervous, but there was no need to be. Just checked on basic facts (address, names, parents names, etc). We set a tentative date, although I think we'll stick to it (10-09-10). Eeeeek!!!!!

We meet again on Thursday night!

We haven't talked about fees yet, so maybe that will be in our next meeting???

I can't believe it, it's gonna happen this year!

Yay! Congrats! You can always call or email the church coordinator. IF for any reason the fees are too high tell them about it. Shoot, if you tell them look, we're trying to do this wedding under $5k total and we're not have some extravagant affair, I'm sure they'll work with you.

For the record... my church fee is $100...

I hope we have your luck KLP2010. I don't know how I'm going to throw this all together in these next 7 months. Yes, it will be small, but we have done nothing yet...this is our first step. I don't have rings, a dress, location for the dinner reception, photographer...NOTHING! Gahhhh!
