He actually asked me on the 23rd, not on Christmas Eve, but I was able to keep it a secret from my family until tonight! I'll write more and post a pic of the ring when I can, but for now I need to get some sleep! I just wanted to share, first. I'm so excited, and I love the ring! He did good. :)

Thank you! Ok, so here's how it happened. He told me we were going out after I got out of work on the 23rd. I thought we were going to a local bar/restaurant that we had recently discovered and fell in love with, but he brought me into Boston instead! We went to a couple of different bars, including the one in which he had first told me that he loved me (which also happens to be one of my favorite bars in Boston). He insisted that we sit at one of the tables in front of the band, so I agreed. I could tell he was trying to reach for something in his jacket pocket (which he had hung on the back of his chair), but was having a hard time reaching it. Just as I was about to ask him if he wanted me to grab it for him, he started telling me about how this is the place where he had first told me how he really felt about me and how it had marked an important milestone in our relationship. Then he put the ring box on the table in front of me. I couldn't believe it, because he had me convinced he wasn't going to ask until after our cruise in January! He asked me to marry him, and of course I said yes!!!

Ok, I'm going to try to post a pic of the ring... He is so proud of himself for picking out the diamond and setting! He learned so much about diamonds and really did an amazing job. I still can't believe it! :)
