Every store I’ve bene shopping with brides (haven’t shopped myself, yet!) has had the same policy – no pix in dresses until after you buy them.  I don’t know why and I think it’s pretty ridiculous since the dresses can all be found online, but it is the policy here in NY from what I can see.

I bought my dress at a store where they take pictures for you and then e-mail you the ones you like

Very pretty dress! It’s standard to not allow pictures in bridal shops. It bummed me out as I was trying to have my Mom participate via text message, but the shop wouldn’t allow it. :-/

Some salons do while others do not (I don’t really get why). I ended up buying my dress from DB, which allowed me to take pictures. It helped to bring them home and see what I looked like from other perspetives, not just me looking in a mirror.

Every store I went to allowed pictures and most were independantly run bridal salons.

I went looking for dresses in two different stores. Both of them permitted pictures. It may be because they are small privately owned stores.

I couldn’t imagine not taking pictures. I’m not an impulsive buyer, I will sit on a decision and weigh it out. To deny me pictures to reference the dresses I like is to deny yourself a sale immediately. Either I see myself in the dress or I see the model. And you had better believe I don’t look the same as the model does in the dress!

I may have found my dress last night. I know it might be the one because I keep looking at the picture on my phone and it keeps getting me excited.

I took pictures of all the dresses I considered– my aunt lives across the country from me and I wanted to get her opinions too; I wouldn’t have shopped somewhere that didn’t allow it.

Mine allowed me to take pictures–in fact my consultant encouraged it from the beginning.
