Nope, surprisingly not nervous, usually I am pretty shy!  My dad was though, a few steps into it I told him we had to slow down a little bit.  Most of it is a blur, but I loved seeing our friends and family all there, I was focused on them for about half the walk, spontaneously stopped and kissed my 96 year old godfather on the cheek, then saw my husband to be and forgot about everyone else.

Definitely best day ever… so far!

I walked the first half with both my parents and I was really nervous then, but as soon as I let go of them and stepped out on my own, I felt free and liberated and was thrilled to walk up to my groom! Everything else just fell away!

I was very nervous so I walked down very fast & didn’t smile because everyone was staring at me. I kick myself for not being prepared.

SO SMILE!!! Remember that you are going to look back at the professional pictures and video.

I surprised myself by not being nervous. I didn’t notice the music (which I’m a bit sad about, I’d chosen a song for my cousin to learn on his guitar and at the rehearsal it had given me goosebumps!) but I took the time to look at all the smiling faces. Then we got about halfway up the aisle and I looked up to see Darling Husband. I remember saying to mum (both she and dad walked me) “oh there he is” and Mum said “oh look there’s your wonderful man” 🙂 I tried to soak it all in and I couldn’t stop grinning. Darling Husband was teary which surprised me (in a very nice way)!

I’m so glad folks are saying they weren’t nervous when it actually came to walking down the aisle, as it is one of my worries too.

Not in the least. I was just so excited and as soon as I saw my husband, I couldn’t think of anything else.

I don’t think you will have any real idea how you will feel in that moment until you are actually in it, so I would not worry about it now. Just remember to walk slowly and really enjoy the moment.

When my song started, I started to cry, then I turned the corner and saw my Fi, and a wave of calm washed over me and I just grinned… then my dad started whispering “Left, left, left right left.” and it made me giggle.

Enjoy it, be sure to smile, and just look at your man. Mine had tears in his eyes and we just couldn’t stop smiling…  <3

It’s nice to read these. 🙂  The only thing I’m nervous about is walking down the aisle with everyone looking at me.

@ZoeKat: Me too!  I’m not a “center of attention” type person, so I feel really uncomfortable when all eyes are on me.  Hopefully I’ll be so excited that I won’t even care!

I focused on my husband, barely saw anyone else.

I was so excited! I looked at all our guests and smiled huge, and then I focused on my groom!

I was very nervous b/c I had to walk down two steps – and right as I got there my shoe caught in my crinoline (I hadn’t pulled it up high enough) and I had to kick my foot free as one hand had bouquet and the other was on my dad’s arm (not to mention who reaches down to pull at their dress while walking down the aisle).  So when I kicked I kind of wobbled and there was a gasp as it looked like I was tripping to the average observer (so I heard).  After that I actually wasn’t nervous, and was happy and almost laughing while walking down the aisle b/c while it probably crosses everyones mind who REALLY trips walking down the aisle?  Me!

My wife and I walked down the aisle together.  I wasn’t all that nervous, but then again, we only had 12 guests in attendance.

Yes!  Right before walking down the aisle, I told my dad I was nervous… he was like “me too”!!  LOL!  Thanks Dad!  Tongue out

I was pretty nervous for the first 1/4 of the aisle and I was looking down at the ground… but then I looked up and saw my smiling Darling Husband and I smiled the rest of the way down.  I didn’t even hear the music… it was weird… truly dreamlike.  Laughing
