I love this website! So much more active and informative than the local ones (sorry!).

Any other bees from BC, and Vancouver specifically?

I've been blogging since my engagement adventure began. Rating venues, venting, dreaming out loud... you get the picture.

    If anyone is interested, it's

@Soon2beMrs.Ka:   Both the ceremony and reception at the Chateau Cargill in Surrey..  We get the whole place to ourselves which is nice and its in a good location for everyone.. and has  a good backup plan if it rains for an outdoor ceremony.

Has anyone got their bridesmaid dresses yet?  I am having an issue finding affordable ones up here because the bridal shops are expensive..  Thinking of going down to Davids Bridal in January..

@SportsGal: I got mine at Frocks... and yes... they weren't cheap.. :(  but i got lazy and didn't wanna look around... a friend of mine got hers from Davids Bridal online and it was $99 per dress on sale... but sometimes, if u check out regular clothing stores like banana republic u might be able to find dresses on sale that can work as a bridesmaid dress.... good luck!!

Not Vancouver, but I am moving to Victoria in January! Can't wait. We are getting married in Newfoundland though. I'm originally from St. John's.

There is a shop in metrotown that has tons of bridemaid style dresses.

@Genuine513: One of those prom type ones in Metrotown?  Do you remember what part of the mall it's in?

I'm also having trouble finding bm dresses under $200...might be making the David's Bridal trip before I go back to work in the new year.

@MademoiselleL: Yeah, where it is in the mall is very good question. I think it was call riveria's which is on the top floor by sears (section UL according to the map). They had tons of pretty dresses in there, and unique ones too.

Le Chateau has lots of dresses too, especially this time of year. Champagne and Lace in Abby have tons of bridemaids/prom dresses too! There is an awesome consignment shop in kelowna that has both bridal and bridesmaid dresses, though I am sure thats too far away for you. hmm I will keep thinking of others.

@Genuine513: Thanks, I will check out Champagne and Lace (never went there to try on dresses) and that one in Metrotown.  I don't really like Le Chateau because their quality is kind of bad and their prices just keep climbing higher and higher.

From the interior :)  Surprisingly enough, Bootlegger has some cute dresses in right now. I think that on boxing day they usually have 50% off lots of stuff in the store, so I'm going to watch online and see if they come on sale. If not, at the end of January we're going to head down to Tulalup (spelling? ) the outlet stores between Bellingham/Seatte. The BCBG outlet there always has tons of cute dresses for super cheap. In the summer I got a dress for $10 there. I'm not sure of the chances of finding 4 of the same dresses in proper sizes in an outlet store, but I'm gonna try!

@LyndzJM: Those outlets are a great idea!  I know a girl whose husband got his wedding attire at the Perry Ellis outlet there (for a destination wedding though) and they also have a Dress Barn with tons of dresses.  Hmmm....I need to go!

We are heading down to the seattle outlet after christmas too, not for wedding stuff but because my SO can get like 10 Ecko Unltd shirts for $100 instead of only 2 here.
