i dont know if i missed a blurb of it and i couldnt read the print from the picture of it in your program, but whats the story of the drinking thing?
Completely beautiful! Congratulations to you both!
Those are beautiful. That night city scape shot is awesome! Too cool you had a cheering section, LOL. What was in the vase and what was the significance of it, if you don't mind me asking?
thank you so much for all your kind words ladies.
@tksjewelry: & @MrsTCB: this is the text from the program about the wedding vase
Liliana and Michelle have decided to use a ritual, the wedding vase ritual, from Native Southwest American Indian tribes, especially the Navajo and Pueblo peoples, as a part of their ceremony today.
During the ceremony Liliana and Michelle will drink from the vessel which is filled with a special potion as a symbol of two individuals whose lives are becoming one.
Believed to have originated in South America, the wedding vase has been a part of Pueblo life for centuries. The graceful spouts represent two separate lives. The bridge at the top part of the vessel unites these separate lives together as one.
The two spouts represent the couple, one side for one bride and the other for the other bride. The rounded base and shared reservoir of the vase represents the couple’s now shared lives. The looped handle is a visual reminder of the deeper, spiritual connection that a couple shares. The handle creates a circle in the center of the vase that represents the circle of life.

the special potion is supposed to be holy water blessed by a shaman, but that's pretty hard to find in Chicago, so we opted for a specially blended tea made for us based on our personalities.
Congrats! You both look beautiful and so happy!
I love, love, love when blog feature all types of weddings!
@malaika: yes they are!!! My wife had hers custom made (it was actually more than my dress!!! around $1600. it could have been cheaper, but she opted for a cashmere wool blend). I would not recommend the place we went to because the service is horrible (not bc we are two women - the tailor was awesome about that), just the service in general. We had to go to a men's tailor shop for her suit as all the white pantsuits we found in stores were cheaply made, or just not the right style for her.

We've been blogged in two different blogs :)
and also, surprisingly enough, my alma maters (MBA and Undergrad) also published news of our civil union. I say surprisingly because both are jesuit-catholic universities.
