I think that is fine, but not sure it is techincally eloping since that means its usually done in a secret fashion and you are not only preplanning, not leaving your "point of origin" but also including family.
Go for it!

My fiance and I have decided to elope for multiple reasons...
1) My father will not attend our wedding and I really don't want to walk down an aisle without him.
2) We want to simplify things, which will make it less stessful and more fun for the two of us. This way, we can get the space decorated instead of relying solely on family and/or paying someone to do it. We have our space (a conservatory) from 4 to 10, so we were thinking we could decorate at 4 and start the celebration at 6ish...
3) We are itching to be married! He's asked me several times over the past month (before the drama with dad happened) to just elope and use the wedding venue to have a fun wedding celebration/ reception. I just love him and want to do it.
So our plan is to have the wedding ceremony at a local chapel with our kids and moms at the end of March- no other guests and then on May 26th (our original wedding date) have a "wedding celebration" at our venue. We would re-affirm our committment in front of family and friends, do a unity sand ceremony with our kids (we are a blended family) and then proceed with the pre-planned reception activities including dinner, family games, background music and a cupcake tree. (our theme is family, flowers and fun!) What do y'all think bees?
