sorry..never been there but just wanted to chime in and say that picture is amazing! just that water color alone makes me want to research it!!
My cousin went there for a MONTH for his honeymoon, I'll ask him for some info but he and his wife loved it. They love travelling and said it's one of the more beautiful places they visited.
I just posted some pics from my thailand trip:

Yes, things are def cheaper there. Meals with maybe an app, two plates, nonalcoholic drinks run about 10-15, but of course western food and alcohol can add up. We didn't stay in the super luxurious places, but the basic places (but still clean and have all the amenities like maid service, towels, hot shower, wifi, etc) runs up to maybe 30. If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask
As for islands, we stayed at koh yao noi (a very quiet, nontouristy island for peace and quiet, but local, very rural, very quiet) and then a few nights in Karon beach in Phuket for the opposite (lots of people, lots of stores/restaurants, huge beach), with daytrips to Racha island for SNUBAing (which was AWESOME, I recommend. snubathailand.com) and two daytrips to Koh Phi Phi (which the pictures above is from) and Phang nga bay (which I took with simba sea trips, also recommend).
Are you going to go to the north at all? I stayed in Chiang mai and rode elephants, petted tigers, and that area is definitely cheaper than the island area. Meals (even if you get like 3-4 plates of food and fruit drinks) hardly run more than 10, we did a 2 hour massage package for $15/each, and our hotel was very nice (had a balcony and stuff) was 16/night.
Any questions at all, feel free to ask!
So I have zero advice except to enjoy yourselves! The honeymoon is by far the most amazing trip you'll take! The stress of the wedding leads into the most relaxing vacation where you don't have to worry about a THING! Oh wait...you do have to worry about which drink you'll have at any particular moment ;o)

We've both absolutely fallen in love with Thailand for our honeymoon! Between the amazing beaches and stunning history- we'll be equally balanced for our trip between sight seeing and pure beach laziness.
However- has anyone been there? Any recs on which islands are the best? Also, is it significantly cheaper once you get there?
Any tips, advice is appreciated- Thanks!!
ps Sorry, I love posts w/pics. Hence my random thai beach image. hehe.
