Starting today, FI and I are abstaining for exactly seven weeks until the wedding. I'm already horny, and I can't do anything about it. Booooooooooo.
Anyone else in the same boat?
When did you start?
I just brought this up to my FI as an idea... he looked at me as if I had 3 heads..
@CanadianMermaid: funny because when DH mentioned this idea to me the weeks up to the wedding I gave him my death stare.
We had a .5 second conversation about this... then we both lol'd and moved on. Good luck? I couldn't do it! Lol.
I was thinking of proposing the same thing prior to our wedding...
@CanadianMermaid: We started this morning. We had said the beginning of Advent, but for some reason I kept thinking December 1st. We were both kind of taken aback at church this morning. Sigh.
I joked about doing this once to my fiancé and we had a good laugh. However, since he works 15-16 hours a day 6 days a week, we might as well be abstaining!! Sigh...

Hahaha. Good Luck! :) FI and I are LDR so it'll be 5 months for us, but much easier since we're 4000 miles apart.
@HawaiiBamaBride: lol. Yeah, this whole abstaining thing would have been a lot easier if I were still in Japan. Instead, we now live together.
We have been discussing it. We both want to, but we also discussed how we know we will be stressed and umm, hello, is there a better stress reliever?
@SleepingWithNuns: haha it will be a year to our wedding in a couple of weeks.. I told him we should do it for a year...I fear what strategies he might try to pull if I were actually trying to stick to this.

I don't know if FI was joking or serious but he wanted us to wait as well. I nipped that one right in th bud.
"No way, I am having sex with you one way or another whether you like it or not!" Tasteless joke, but he got the point. We actually tried for a while and couldn't go more than 2 weeks - he initiated.
@CanadianMermaid: It includes everything. :( We normally sleep naked, but I've actually had to go and find an old set of pajamas.
@HawaiiBamaBride: lol. He just said, "I might have to toward the end." Our mattress is terrible, though, so he might get the better deal there. I'll bet the couch is more comfortable.
DH and I stopped one week before the wedding...
and BOY did it make a difference!! Our wedding night was AMAZING!
Hahahaha. I couldn't last. I'm a horn dog. I get sad when it's that time of the month and I can't have sex.
Ditto. Mine just ended yesterday. I texted FI at work and said "I think we can play tonight" and he said "maybe tomorrow." His back and legs were sore from work.
I understand but man, I was upset. I already waited a week and I was still getting cut off, haha.
He better prepare himself for tonight...
@MissPumpkinPie: Me too. I thought I would be okay for a little while because we had the most epic sexathon EVER yesterday, but if anything, it's just made me hornier. :(

We contemplated it for a while, but it wouldn't have lasted. I would have broken eventually haha. You guys are admirable!
@HawaiiBamaBride: We lived together for a year and a half and abstained (but we didn't leave out everything like OP).

We didn't and I'm sort of glad. It's not like we did anything the night of the wedding because we were exhausted.
Haha we did this. For 5 months....gah. it was hard and it was kinda scary how we were afraid we had, um, forgotten how to do things? and yes. the horniness was difficult.
Wow, that's a long time! I guess I don't really "get" this idea and I'm sure we won't be doing it (and by that I mean we will be doing it, haha). Good luck!!
I never heard of this before! Maybe we should do it for a week before our wedding. Although my fiancé would probably veto it immediately!
GreenEyedMoon's Journal: Day 2 of Abstinence
This sucks, guys. FI and I both agreed last night that yesterday morning, the moment we realized that our period of abstinence had begun and that we were no longer allowed to have sex, our inner horndogs woke up and started saying "Sex is a GREAT idea!"
We kissed each other goodnight before bed last night, and it turned into a wild makeout session, and at the end of it, we were both just frustrated. REALLY frustrated. FI says we're going to lay some ground rules tonight on what we're allowed to do and what we're not so that we don't drive ourselves crazy.
I slept terribly. I don't know how much of it was the pent up sexual frustration and how much was the fact that sleeping in clothes sucks and is super uncomfortable, but either way, I woke up constantly.
Someone please tell me this gets easier.
@GreenEyedMoon: Ive joked with FI about this, expecially when hes all worked up! it never has happened lol, but good luck! if you FI is anything like mine it will only last a few days...
@HawaiiBamaBride: FI wants nothing to do with me during that time. Hah. I can respect that.
@harleyq: I get all sad when FI tells me when he's not in the mood - like not feeling good. I understand why, but I'm like damn it... hahaha
@GreenEyedMoon: I'm sorry, dear!! I can only imagine how you feel. I wish I had some advice, but shoot, I can't control myself most times. I'm worse than FI.
I don't really get why people do this is you were already sleeping together before, but good luck!
My husband and I tried this as well! We also lived together for 2 years before we were married. Let's just say the one night we gave into temptation- 2.5 weeks before the wedding- well we just created a little unknown guest at the wedding that we didn't find out about until 6 days after we were married!

@MissPumpkinPie: Me too. I was the one being the most bad last night. I was rubbing up against him, and he said, "Stop it. You're just making it harder." I replied, "That's the whole point!"
At least I'm not feeling nearly as horny today. So far.
@MissPumpkinPie: If either of us gives in, it's going to be me. Don't get me wrong, FI is just as horny, but he has better impulse control, too.
@GreenEyedMoon: I believe it. I'm sure he wants it just as bad. FI has better impulse control as well. I don't know how he does it. They need to teach us their ways.
@MissPumpkinPie: I KNOW he does. One of the reasons I kept waking up last night was because his boner kept poking me in the back.
