I had an idea and want some feedback…
What if I buy my bridesmaids purple button down men’s shirts in their significant other’s sizes to wear the day of and then SO can wear it some other time?
Here is why I am thinking of this as an option:
– I really just want them to look cute for pictures, I have gifts for them so I am not looking at day of attire as a gift.
– I could pick these shirts up from Ross for cheap.
– All of the bridesmaids would fit in SO’s size of shirt.
– I don’t want to buy a robe that they will only wear once. Hopefully their SO would get more use out of it.
I could maybe do this and then I thought about buying them some cute pajama shorts to go on underneath it that they can keep.
What do you think?

To be honest, I don’t understand the coordinated look for bridesmaids. My girls all just wore their own button down shirts, and the pictures came out fine.
Also, DH wears nice, high-quality dress shirts, and probably wouldn’t rewear a shirt from Ross that really was purchased so your pictures had a bunch of matching bridesmaids before your wedding.
I suggest just asking them to wear a button down shirt. Every girl has one, and it’s easy.

I think the matching look is cute and as a bridesmaid i prefer to be given something to wear so I dont stress over what to wear for your pictures – because realistically they dont care much but wont want to ruin your photos.

I’m buying my girls coordinated button downs, so you know how I voted. I think it will look really cute on the day of, and they’ll probably get use out of them after the wedding. I thought about robes, but I’m not a fan of how it comes off like you’re not dressed. They look pretty, but I wanted something we would feel comfortable wearing in public.

@abbie017: That is a good idea too. I didn’t think of the matching until my photographer talked about taking pics of us getting and ready and I wanted to do some fun pics with the girls. Their husband’s don’t get dressed up that often so a Ross shirt would be just fine for them. Maybe I will ask them to wear a button down and just get them some pj shorts for fun? I didn’t think of asking them to all wear a button down lol.

tanya4285: My girls are our 3 duaghters who are 8, 10 and 12 (the 12 year old wears a larger size than me) and possibly my 2 year old cousin. I also wanted to get one for my mom, so I am getting them shirts from this Etsy shop.

tanya4285: Honestly, my man would not wear a purple shirt. And I think I would get more wear out of a robe than anything else.
