@WillowTreeWade:  Couples is AWESOME. I have been to Swept Away and Negril and you can’t go wrong, they’re located in Jamaica.  I have also done Sandals, and although Sandals might be a little more glitz and glam, the service and the feeling that you get at Couples is beyond compare!!! We’re going back in May and I can’t wait!! Oh and Couples is adults only!! Check out their webpage, lots of good stuff included, you never get bored and you’ll wished you stayed longer!

We looooove Excellence Riviera Cancun in Riviera Maya, Mexico.  We have been there 3 times and the last time was just this past May.  It is a beautiful resort and is adults only!  Plus it is only about 20 minutes from the airport, which is great when you just want to start your vaca.  The food is awesome and the drinks are always good as well.  There is always something to do there during the day and there are shows every night.  I’m not sure there is anything here that we didn’t like!  Here is a link in case you want to check it out:

Jamaica is also beautiful.  I haven’t been there in years but my parents go all the time and their fav resort is the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall.  I can’t give any advice on this place because we’ve never been there, but I know my parents are pretty picky and they are going back in a week for their anniversary (3rd time I think)….so it must be good!   We didn’t like dominican at all, but I know other people who do like it there.  I also know people who have been to St. Lucia and Antigua and loved it but I can’t remember the resorts right now (if I think of it I’ll let you know).

We LOVED Moon Palace in Cancun Mexico, and I believe Beach palace is couples only.  Moon Palace is bigger but there are kids around.  We went on a catamaran ride and happened to have lunch at Beach Palace one day (your all inclusive wrist band works at ALL their hotels which is cool).  Beach Palace was on a more remote island, more remote, and completely gorgeous!!  They have candlelit dinners on the beach- so great for a honeymoon.  It was very upscale- they had CHI blow dryers and straighteners in every room!  I also went to a “Jewel” Inclusive resort in Jamaica last month-  I feel like the resorts in Jamaica just aren’t as nice as in Mexico.  Mexico is more 2nd world and Jamaica is still very much a poor and third world country.  Both were good experiences for a vacation, but I would do Cancun over Jamaica for a honeymoon.  We did private beach dinners and a horse and carriage ride for both- and the dinner in Mexico was more refined/fancier and the horse and carriage rise went along the beach and through the gardens.  In Jamaica, it was very nice, but the dinner wasn’t as classy and the carriage ride went through their fanciest neighborhood- some of the houses still didn’t have windows, there were holes in the walls, trash in the street, starving dogs and cows running around, etc.  The service and people at both resorts was top notch though.

If you haven’t been to Cuba…. GO!

its Such an amazing experience and Havana is truly something to experience.

we always stay at Iberostar Playa Alameda and we love it!  We have really got to know the staff and they treat us so well.

Its not adult only but in all our times there weve maybe seen like 2 kids!   It also has one of the best beaches on the veradero strip.   Its the second last resort on the strip so it’s a more quiet resort.

Food is……  a matter of opinion and taste.    I don’t like most of it but I always find something to eat.   It’s worth the shitty food to experience Cuba.

the people are amazing!   Cubans LOVE us Canadians and I have always felt safe.   They rely on our tourism and do anything to make you feel comfortable.

I also vote Couples Negril…. You will be treated like royalty and its the most amazing resort I’ve stayed at.  It can be pricey but there’s SO MUCH included.

We went to Royal Hideaway in Riviera Maya and loved it.  It’s in Playacar, about 5 minutes from Playa del Carmen.  It’s small but very luxurious, and adults only!
