Originally we were planning on getting married in Hawaii this Fall, but it’s turning into a nightmare trying to figure out a good time to go there to make sure people would be there, so we have decided on getting married an hour away from here instead. Which means I have less than 6 months to plan this and I want to make sure I’m not leaving anything out! We’re having a small wedding (around 24 people), no bridal party, no traditional reception. The ceremony will be hopefully (just waiting for them to get back to us with the final confirmation) be at a hotel with an indoor and outdoor option and decoration is taken care of there. For the “reception”, we’re renting out the whole restaurant at the hotel and we won’t need any decoration.
This is what I have on my to-do list:
– Marriage license
– Invitations – do you think I would be able to order like 10 invitations from Etsy? We don’t need a lot of them.
– Dress, shoes, accessories, etc.
– His outfit
– Book honeynoon
What am I missing?

Any music for the ceremony? Maybe just a violinist or something like that can play for a short time. Maybe you have one and just didn’t list it – but an officiant? Maybe a small cake if you don’t just want to do the regular restaurant desserts.
I think your wedding sounds lovely and awfully similar to mine! We were going to do Hawaii too and then just gave up. Instead we’re doing around 40 guests at a hotel. Our reception will be a little more traditional though (but I love the idea of renting out the hotel restaurant!!!).
I had a hard time finding a seller on Etsy that agreed to only producing such a low number of invitations. I only needed 20, but I had to order 35 (that was their minimum). I think you can find them, but it can be a little harder. I had fallen in love with an invitation suite only to find out that the girl wouldn’t make them in a batch of so few. Boo. I ended up finding others that I loved even more though.

Maybe you could order a design template off Etsy and then print out the invitations you need using nice paper, cute envelopes, etc. ?

What about an officiant? 🙂

@orchidaloha: Transportation for guest that are not staying at the hotel maybe?? (like a bus to shuttle people at the end of the night), Music for the ceremony, hair and makeup, little things that you might need for ceremony parts (like if you were doing a candle or sand ceremony, or something)

Michaels sells invitation kits so maybe that is an option if you only want to make a few. Best of luck!

Thanks for the suggestions ladies! I’ve added the ones I will need to my list 🙂
