my Fiance is being really wearid about wearing a white tie…..he will only wear it if he can wear a black shirt…and I said okay but now I”m thinking I hate the idea. Our groomsman are all wearing black tie, black vest, white shirt.
I really wanted him to wear a white shirt, white tie…and black vest or white vest….but again he will only do the white tie/white vest if he can wear the black shirt.
So I”m thinking I’ll just let him pretty much wear what the groomsmen are wearing…..cuz I just hate the look of the black shirt/white tie. But again, what are other ways I can distigues him from teh other guys?

You could have him or the groomsmen wear a colour? Or give him a different bout. Or have him wear a regular bow tie tux and the groomsmen regular suits. Or have him wear a patterned tie? Or have the groomsmen wear no vests at all?

I actually think a black shirt with a white tie looks really sharp. I also think that if this is the only thing your groom realy wants, let him do it. It’s his day too. He didn’t get to pick your dress, let him pick his clothes.
However, if you’re really set against it. My groom also wanted to ‘stand out’ from the groomsmen.
He decided to wear a grey vest instead of a black vest. It still looks good, but will set him apart a bit.

My Fiance is going to be wearing a black tux, champagne vest/tie, and ivory shirt. Our GM’s will be wearing a black tux, latte tie/vest, ivory shirt. Plus the bouts will be different…I’m going to have white in my bouquet and my girls are going to have all color no white and our GM’s will have colored flowes for bouts and my Fiance will have white. Hopefully that made sense lol

Has he asked for anything else specifically for the wedding? Are you giving him veto rights over your dress? You have to remember that it is his wedding day as well! If he wants to wear a black shirt why not just let him?

This was one of our discussions too!! I wanted Fiance to look different from groomsmen…didn’t want to grab the wrong butt at the reception!! =)
I like the different shirt idea. I think it would go well with what groomsmen are wearing!!
If not, different tie, different bout, different shoes??

Thanks..I showed Fiance some pics of some guys wearing the combo depicted above and he agreed it can tend to look “gangster” and being that he’s a pretty tough and intimidating looking fellow himself, that’s not the look he was going for. Now we just have to settle on the color vest and tie now that he’s decided to wear a white shirt. It’s really not that I dont’ want him to make his own clothing choice, I just dont’ want him to regret it later.
