What are signs of an infestation?

It really depends on what the bug is, I suppose.

Many bugs don’t pose health risks or structural problems, so I wouldn’t really worry about those. Things like termites, fleas, poisonous spiders, roaches, I would worry about finding ANY of those.

I agree with urchin, it really depends.  A few tiny flys can easily get through a screen.  It isn’t unusual to find a bit group of those after leaving a window open and a light on overnight.

MissAch:  Ya, I would say it depends on the type of bug and where you are findig them. You may find mutliple of the same bug in differnet locations, but that might be because you are near a door or window. If it was roaches, spiders, fleas, termites I’d be a bit worried and maybe keep a little log in case you can find any links and it would be helpful to pest control if you need to call them. I wouldn’t be too worried about small spiders, fly’s, waterbugs, silverfish, sugar ants…
