We did a game-show type video. My MIL makes videos like this for all of the kids that get married! Kind of like the newly wed game, just minus the prude questions. It included our family, some friends, and, bridal party answering questions about us and my DH and I answering those questions and seeing who got how many correct! We also had the guests participate by having little answer sheets with the questions and who they think got the answer riight and gave the person who got most correct a prize. It was hilarious and fun for everyone and it was fun to finally see what my DH said for some of my answers and vice-versa!

We are having a 10 piece orchestra! I feel like nowadays it’s uncommon to have live music – everyone seems to do a dj.

I’ve decided to have the DJ call all the married couples to the dance floor and while he’s playing a song (we haven’t selected it yet) he’ll say whoever has been married a few hours have a seat, 1 year have a seat etc… the object is to have the longest married couple standing and they’ll give my fiance and I marriage advice. I got the idea from a friends wedding I attended and loved it!!!

We’re adding the “money dance” to ours.  The bride will dance with all the men, and the groom will dance with all the women.  This is for those who want to participate, it’s not mandatory.  Basically each person “pins” money (paper no coins) onto the bride or groom’s attire and dance with them for less than 30 seconds.  It’s to wish the couple good luck financially.

It’s a Filipino tradition that my family has followed for generations.

We had a live band, which was the first of any of my friends to do. We also did a photobooth (not uncommon), but it was an open one so you culd fit a TON of people in it. Most receptions I’ve been to have had the enclosed booths.

That’s all we really did for different stuff, and everyone made comments that they liked both.

We names tables after songs, and when the song played, people got up to get their food

We gave out a bottle of Hennessy to whoever caught the garter. The guys were stretching and everything before the toss. They dove for it like the girls do the bouquet, if not worse!

This isn’t set in stone but after all the “first dance” “father daugher dance” and so on we would like to start karaoke instead of typical DJing
