I’ve been reading blogs and makeup artist tips for wedding day makeup and they all say no shimmer/glitter eyeshadows/blushes/lipgloss.
I want to start practicing my look and found that ALL I OWN are shimmery/glittery eyeshadows. Even basic browns/nudes have shimmer/metallic looks to them. ugggh.
What are some high quality eyeshadows that are matte with zero shimmer or glitter?

Urban decay has some matte shadows in one of their naked palettes (I’m not sure which one though)

@LadyMoriarty: The Urban Decay Naked Basics palette is all matte.

@LadyMoriarty: MUA here, and yes, absolutely no shimmer. It will photograph “greasy-looking.” PP’s are correct, the naked palatte is awesome! The only color that is not matte is the first one, called Venus. (Naked Basics)

I like ‘Cargo’ and ‘Makeupforever’
Both can be found at Sephora

Inglot, amazing color payoff, and a ton of completely matte options.

brand has nothing to do with shimmer. shimmer is a finish to a product.
try MAC. go into a store and test them. you need to ask for matte finish shadows.

@colorofmyheart: I know, I was looking for specific brands and the names of the colors from those brands. I have a ton of MAC eyeshadows, but the ones I have are all shimmery. I keep hearing a lot about UD Basics palette, maybe I’ll give UD a try.

I love Smashbox eyeshadows. I prefer to buy the pretty coordinated trios of them. 🙂

@LadyMoriarty: I went with Inglot. Naked basics was no good for my medium skin–4 whites, a brown, and a black.

@jdhall89: Ah yeah, I’m thinking Naked Basics isn’t going to be good with my olive skintone : I’ll check out Inglot!

Try TooFaced. They have a couple palettes and they are mostly matte. I will be getting one when I run down my naked palette a bit more.

@LadyMoriarty: I like Lily Lolo for natural, safe makeup 🙂 http://www.lilylolo.co.uk/
The ingredients are fabulous (their eye shadows have just two ingredients – mica and jojoba seed oil), not tested on animals, and affordable.

Another vote for Naked Basics. I am tan with red undertones though. I remember being so excited when it came out.

Definitely Naked Basics! 🙂
