Besides the bee that is! 😛
I am looking for a new hobby. I wouldn’t mind being crafty, but I’ve never really been so I’m looking for some suggestions. I’ve been advised to check out some crafting blogs, but not really sure where to look for those.
I used to do photography. I did band shows, interviews, etc. But I backed away from that lifestyle a lot. I sure as hell miss it, but now that I’m with J, it just doesn’t fit us. Main reason is because I used to travel a lot. I know I can get back into it, but I’m looking to do something somewhat different. Broaden my knowledge so to speak.
So, I’d love it if you guys would share some of your hobbies with me! I also think it’s interesting to see what people love to enjoy.

Reading, Kickboxing, Researching (sad, I know), Volunteering. That’s sort of all I do besides work and go to school. *sigh*

Roller Derby! Can you tell? LOL!

That’s pretty intense!
@AmeliaBedelia: What sort of volunteering do you participate in?

Cooking! Especially without a recipie. I love throwing things together and making it up as I go.
Designing! I love graphic design and making things look beautiful. I really want to design things for friends and maybe get into doing wedding stationary as a side hobby.
Organizing! I could spend all day (and often do) organizing a room or two. It’s so relaxing to me to create order.
Teaching! Ok, it’s technically my job, but I absolutely am a teacher at heart. I would love to teach adult workshops or classes as a hobby someday if I get out of teaching as a career.

I used to ride horses. Does anyone have one that I could borrow? =(

@MissHoneyBun: Oh i feel you! I miss horses 🙁
Hobbies….knitting is a social craft and easy to pick up (it’s a steep learning curve if you’ve never done it, but it clicks pretty quickly!). And you can do it while chatting, watching TV, working…heh.
One of my friends likes swing dancing, contra dancing, etc., she has met a lot of friends that way!

Baking! I love baking and I’m actually pretty good at it, unlike most other crafts! So of course, my fiance was diagnosed as pre-diabetic and now doesn’t eat ANY carbs whatsoever, even whole grains. Le sigh.
But I still bake for other people. It makes me popular at work. 🙂 True story: I have had 3 separate men (not my FI) propose to me after tasting my chocolate cake. They were joking, but still!
I also love reading, watching movies, hiking, camping when I get the chance, and most of all, spending time with friends over coffee or a glass of wine.

I love to read. I’ve loved that ever since I was a kid.
I love taking pictures of anything and everything. And I love scrapbooking which goes hand in hand with taking pics.
I like baking too, but as of now, my baking is limited to Pillsbury from the box. Not homemade, but still yummy!

I grow orchids …its a crazy hobby that will turn you into a social missfit and hermit. Seriously, I hang out with my plants for 2 hours a day easily. But they’re so beautiful, and shows are so much fun. You feel so successful when you FINALLY bloom one on your own. Plus, theres way more to know…I will constantly be learning and stretching my horizions. You can think about judging, breeding, and its a scientific experiment in itself.
I also craft, but I find it hard to stick to specific projects. Getting married has been great…a never ending list of projects.
You also can’t go wrong with cooking.
