Now a diet should be a regular habit of eating healthy everyday.  But let's get real.  Sister needs to lose weight.  Some stuff had to go.  This post is a dedication to the things that were left behind (at least temporarily).

    For me:

-Combos (I know am I five years old?)

    -Hot dogs

    -Candy bars

@bells: peanut butter yum.  maybe get all natural?  is it a nut allergy or some additive in regular PB.

Ummmmm I'm not really on a "diet" but I've been incorporating much healthier eating into our everyday lives and these are some of the things we've left behind...

    -chimichangas :(

    -oreos

    -fries

Those are the things that are most mourned LOL but luckily we've found healthy substitutes for the unhealthy foods that we used to love!

I still splurge on some things so that I dont go totally insane. But cool ranch doritos can not be in the house, because I will eat the whole bag.

My delicious Caramel Vanilla Lattes from Starbucks with whipped cream and caramel drizzle.  Yes, I could get them with non-fat milk and sugar free syrup, but it tastes nowhere close.

Haha, Combos! I haven't had those in years! The pizza ones used to be my fav! :)

I happen to be on the meanest diet ever at the moment. It's essentially no processed anything, no alcohol, no dressings, oils, spreads, no flour, no sugar, no anything fun! It's working well, but boy what I would do for a big fat bowl of guacomole and a dark beer! Just 9 more weeks...then it's back to being a fatty!! (Kidding!...kind of ;D )

@Lala61111: Guac doesn't have to be processed (yum).  You have cut out healthy oils too?  How are you absorbing fat soluable nutrients.  That being said, I wish I had 1/2 of your dedication.  And pepperoni combos are still #1.

Regular cream cheese (fat free=ick). Egg yolks (sunny side up eggs). Bacon. Garlic bread. Whole handfuls of cookies. Whole milk and cream. Homemade coconut cake with cream cheese icing!!!! Pastelitos (plural being the key there). Whole loaves of cuban bread. Seconds on my favorite dinners, like lasagna, churrasco, carne asada, roast pork, pizza, etc... Candy bars. Regular beer. I love hot fudge. It doesn't really matter what it;s on or if it's on anything at all. It's bad.

@heather25: I'm not even going to lie to you. The diet I am doing is not something that is reccomended long term by any means. I have a list of 15 items of protien, 15 items of carbs (all veggies) and 15 items of fat I can have. My daily target is 20%fat, 40%carb and 40% protein and it's all "clean eating". I eat 3 oz. of each catagory per meal, and 3 oz. of carbs and protein for snacks. I'm lucky if I hit 1000 calories a day. A good multi-vitamin and physician monitoring should be included- but, I'm not doing that. I'm a bad girl! :/ I've dropped 3 dress sizes in the last month alone, so it's working- but It most certainly is not a lifestyle change for me like it should be. I like dirty food too much! I feel embarrased even typing this out cause I'm almost 30 and know better to crash diet...but, I have to fit into my mothers wedding dress by June 11th- soooooooo...I will take this one oppertunity in life to not follow the rules. ;D

    @Running Elley:

Same here we're cutting things out for healthier lifestyle rather than "diet".

The biggest one I've come to miss is bacon. We eat turkey bacon now which is good...but damn it is not the same as real bacon.

We're only allowing ourselves one unhealthy meal a week now and if it's really unhealthy one every two weeks. I'm looking forward to my husbands humongous homemade (real!) bacon cheddar cheese burgers next week. That's going to a be two week-er. Hahha

    @MrsDulce:

    mm...love pastelitos. Pernil. Mmmm...

Why Garlic Bread? When I make garlic bread at home I make it with roasted garlic, evoo, garlic salt, s+P, loaf of whatever bread we have and mozzarella cheese. Doesn't have to be unhealthy. :D

Pretty much nothing is "off limits" but I'm counting calories and so a lot of high calorie things are off limits because I just wouldn't be able to eat for the rest of the day!

White pastas and breads, potato chips....and anything fried or anything with cheese (pizza, cheese fries, mozzerella sticks, etc)  I never even ate those things excessively, but now that i've totally given them up I crave them EVERY DAY...

@lindz629: That's why they say you should never swear things off. Deprivation makes you want them more. Just eat in moderation, and you'll be OK!

I'm not exactly on a diet, but I am trying to be a little bit healthier. I've cut out Hot Rods (like a jerky-sausage type thing).

We'd go to costco to buy a huge box of 40 and they'd be gone in like 3 days. I'm terrible! Embarassed

For lent I decided to do a whole "healthy lifestyle", so I've cut out all soda and drinks that aren't water/flavored waters, but I did allow myself to keep orange and apple juice. Also I've been trying to not eat anything fried. I had diet mountain dew today...so.....uh....-_-

@MissKatelyn: Well, I'm not swearing them off completely...just for the next 2 months! :-) I can deal with the cravings as long as I think of the big picture...looking good in my dress!

For lent I gave up conveniences, to teach myself to better manage my time/money/health. So that means no fast food dinners or coffee shops. It's been rough.  My pizza for lunch or a late night McDonald's run...oh I miss them. And a sweet, sugared up coffee goodness in the morning *sigh*

Dark beer- and it has been ROUGH! I did the math and realized that I could save like 1500 calories a week switching to light beer and figured it would be easy- and the pounds did fly off in no time- but I still let myself drink good beer for one night a week. It's nice that that's the only thing I had to give up though.

It's also saved me a lot of money- light beer is dirt cheap compared to my beloved Dominion, Hook & Ladder, and Troegs  Laughing

Any dessert. I'm a sugar-aholic, and I CRAVE sweets at 8pm. I blame it on my upbringing!

Also, I'm lactose-intolorant but I still eat cheese. So I'm supposed to stop eating cheese too :(

After trying to think of what food i've given up I'm actually kind of surprised I've stuck to this for so long.

-I gave up sweets for lent (although I have had pancakes with syrup a couple times)

-I rarely drink soda (or really anything other than water for that matter) just cause I like water and why deal with the empty calories.

-And then I'm lactose intolerant so I haven't really had any cheesy/creamy foods in years.  Which makes me healthier, but man I would kill for alfredo or a milkshake.  But nope, never again will I eat such things. :(

@shellzbellz: I wish I could be as strong as you about lactose things! I love me some cheese and ice cream...Lactaid makes me feel better for a few hours, but after that, I'm pretty miserable!

Anything w/ sugar, white flour and dairy.

Limiting alcohol to once or twice a week (when I was pre-wedding, I cut it out even more).

I miss PIZZA the most right now.  Mmmmm PIZZA.

SO and I are trying out the South Beach for a while, so weve gotten rid of anything with carbs (bad carbs) and stocked up on lean meats, veggies, low fat dairy, and healthy oils! Yay for avaocados still being invited to the party!! I think I would die! Sadly, all the yummy fries, sweets, fruits (for 2 weeks), and bread are a no-no for a while  :(

I am on south beach too!  I stay away from white bread, no more than one fruit a day, and oh the horror...flour tortillas!  Just a few more weeks left for me.

Wine.  I need to lose 5lbs before my wedding so I don't have to pay up the nose for alterations.  Plus I want to get pregnant ASAP.  So, no wine and lots of salad.

We've been eating in almost every night which has helped w/ the weight as well as saved lots of $$$$.

Absolutely nothing! I totally refuse to eat "diet" foods. Portion control and having "goodies" rarely is where it's at. I have lost 35 lbs. since Septemeber and 45 since July, now I am being told I am too skinny!

It is Lent, so I have given up pizza I did have it twice so far but on a Sunday so that is okay! I`m a teacher and every Thursday is pizza day. It has been a struggle! And i have limited alcohol to once a week. I stopped keeping chips in the house because the temptation is too much and that bag will be gone within hours!

Nothing!  Life is too short ;)

@k_nash:  You can always eat Annie's with whole wheat.

@15happyyears:  Same for you with the tortillas, you can get them made with whole wheat ;)

@oracle:  Sugar, white flour and dairy!  That's about my entire diet (slightly kidding).
