My dad wore a tux also. The groomsmen had shadow striped tuxes...I can't remember if dad wore a plain black one. I think he did. He also wore a bow tie and the groomsmen wore ties. My dad said it was "james bondish" and he felt very strongly about the bow tie, LOL. We got ours at Men's Warehouse, too! The Shadow Stripe tuxes are nice but like $170 or so =\
The father of the groom only wore a suit (surprisingly not his military unifrom like he did at my SIL's wedding) because he wasn't really..."part" of it all like the father of the bride I guess. He left DH's mom 25 years ago and lives far away. We rarely see him.
As of now, we are planning on getting both his and my fathers tuxes.
My father will 100% have a tux, if his father wants to do something else, that's just fine with us.
Our father's will be wearing the same tux/suits as the boys in the wedding party. We registered at Mens Wearhouse this weekend and just put the dad's on it without asking yet...you can change your registry there up to 2 weeks before the wedding... Just put them down and change it later if you have to.
What we did was put the fathers in a different color tie though... all the guys will be wearing brown tuxes blue ties but the dads will have brown ties and the same suit. The groom is going to have a totally different tie.
My father, FI's father, and FI's grandfather will be in a tux. I did get them a differnt boutineere.

I'm at the point now where I need to decide how many tux rentals we are getting. My FI and the groomsman will be renting tuxes from Men's Warehouse, and we were asked if the fathers will also be wearing tuxes.
What are you guys doing? Does the father of the bride usually wear the same tux that the groomsmen wear? What about the father of the groom?
