My FI is wearing khaki pants, whit shirt purple tie and navy blazer. We wanted a very casual feel for our bridal party. I did also see a picture online (that I fell in love with) of the men of a bridal party in khakis and blazers.
My FI will wear a tux, but rented. He wears a suit and tie every day, so it would seem odd to us to see him in a suit and tie on our wedding day--very... well, every day! So a tux was a natural choice. We may end up buying him a tux, but realistically, he'll never wear it, so it's difficult to justify the substantial difference in the cost above a rental.
Oh Kara, that's funny!! My FI wears a suit every day to work too & we felt it would be more natural to have him in a custom suit the day of. This way he gets a new suit & I know he'll put it to good use :) Sheesh, more use than I'll get out of my wedding dress lol.
So to answer the question, we're buying a new suit! A tux, for our wedding, would be a little too formal.
shadow stripe black tux, black dress shirt, white euro striped tie. Yummy ![]()
Tuxes are so James Bond esque, but a suit would be out of place at our wedding. Unless we did khaki or tan, and he REFUSES to wear khaki. Likely cuz I would make him wear boat shoes with it.
My FI and his groomsmen will either be renting or buying classic navy blue suits.
I'm not sure if it's an asian custom, but my parents bought DH a very nice suit to wear for our wedding. It was actually a fun experience because my whole family went shopping together with DH!
He will wear a Tux. Not sure if we're buying it or what, we haven't gotten that far yet!
My Groom and groomsmen are wearing navy/white seersucker suits! We found them at Jos. A Bank for a great price, so all the guys bought them. They were really happy to be putting money toward something they'll all get to rewear! Our wedding is in Florida in June, so it'll help them be cooler as well!
The guys are all going to wear beige/tan suits w/ a tie only (no vest or anything). Our wedding is an afternoon wedding, not as formal, so a black tux would have seemed out of place for us. We decided to go a little more casual with the tan suits, plus, our colors are chocolate brown, chartreuse green, and white/ivory. The girls are wearing green and white dresses and we thought the tan suits went with the warm green better than black, and they look great with the brown ties they'll be wearing!
He's going to buy a black suit, something that will get him through a few years of weddings, funerals, interviews, etc. Sigh, it must be nice to be a guy. I'd love to have a reason to wear my dress again.
He'll be wearing a suit. We are having a daytime wedding, so I thought a tux would be a bit much plus we did not want his outfit to be too formal. Also last year he was in a wedding and wore a rented suit. I personally got turned off by the rental stuff after that (and so did he).
we're thinking of renting suits. Caribqueen - what put you off renting suits? Was it a hassle? I've done some phoning around and it doesn't seem like there's much of a selection of suit rental.
Another question I have -- do the groomsmen wearing the exact same outfit as the groom? Or does/can his outfit vary a bit? Should he wear a different tie for example? I dont' know much about groom/groomsmen fashion and i can't find much about it on the web.

What will your groom be dressed in for your wedding? What made you make that decision?
