I worked out a few times a week and increased my water intake so my skin would look nicer.
Bleaching the crap out of my teeth and growing my hair out. Crest Whitestrips Professional are awesome.
I've already dropped a ton of weight, eating healthy (really really healthy) and walking. I've also cut back on highlighting my hair right now to improve the condition of it. I'll get it done before the wedding. Taking better care of my skin and will probably get a facial or two this year.
working out, sticking to weight watchers but mostly trying to tone my arms as my dress is strapless! and I need to get my teeth whitened!
I'm also going to whiten my teeth! I'm running and working out, but I was doing that beforehand as well. I'm also trying really hard to NOT pick at my skin!
I'm doing all the same things you are: working out, eating better, whitening my teeth and growing out my hair. The goal will be to maintain these things AFTER the wedding! Why should I only look fabulous for one day?! :)
teeth whitening strips, at-home facials (masks and things), grew my hair (but decided to cut it 1 week before the big day), tried to excercise, continue with my normal healthy eating.
working out more often than before, whitening my teeth, attempting to drink more water
@Aure: agreed, both FH & I are using Crest Whitestrips. We used one pack with great results; but we love our coffee, so I have our next pack to use in late summer before our wedding.
We're also both very active and eat healthily; but we're each on our own paying a little more attention to portion size. I'd like to be down 5 lbs; he's lost 15 already and would like to keep that off and drop another 10.
Like MissMarriage, these are things we would like to maintain long after the big day as well.
I had braces put on my teeth 3 month after we got engaged. They're coming off about a month before our wedding. My teeth weren't horrible before, but I really wanted them to be perfect for our big day.
My date has passed, but all I wanted to do and did was drop 5lbs. so my dress fit a little better.
I'm not engaged yet, but I know it's coming soon. I've started eating healthy and working out now, instead of putting myself on a timeline with a wedding. This way I have lot's of time to lose weight without the added pressure of dropping the weight on time. I also suffer from Androgentic Alopecia, so I've started some therapy programs with my hair to see if I can get some thickness back. I have thinning on my scalp that I can easily hide with styling but it's been pretty traumatic losing my hair. I'll wear a hair piece the day of, but getting some lustre and thickness back is my main mission.
I too just joined the gym and am working on eating better. I also plan on whitening my teeth about a month or so in advance. And at some point in the near months before the wedding i plan on getting a facial done and of course my nails done too! :)
I'm splurging all year on philosophy skin care. My skin has NEVER looked better and I get to use it up until our day. I'd love to keep using it after, but we'll see.
Keeping my hair long is another issue. I WILL wear it up because I believe there are only so many times in life you get to wear an elaborate updo. My hair is super thick and its a pain to fix it everyday (can't wear it up, it gives me headaches!) but I'm pretty sure I'm going to cut it all off the week after. Yippe!
I'm pretty happy with my weight but would like to tone up more. I also plan to get a facial, tan and whiten my teeth. I'm also going to get a bikini wax (I normally shave) before the wedding so I won't have to worry about it on the honeymoon.
Sometimes I hate being a girl!
I'll whiten my teeth (I'm a coffee drinker) and get tanned up so I don't look like Casper. I don't need to lose weight but I wouldn't mind toning up. I do a lot of biking in the summer months so that should help.
I have cystic body acne, and have had it since I was 11. Areas affected are my shoulders and chest. Of course, I'll have to have them exposed for the wedding, so I plan to start using my expensive acne treatment system again. I got bio-oil last night for the scars (a lot of what's there is just scars and it looks bad). I also plan to start tanning again next month. I don't think I'll worry about teeth whitening (I'm just using whitening toothpaste) because I'm not a toothy-smile type of person, I look horrible when I smile with teeth. I need to loose some pounds, especially some arm flab, but I can't seem to find any motivation to get on the Total Gym :(
Cut back on Dr. Pepper I am waaay addicted but only drinking it like 3 times a week instead of twice a day lol. More water intake and I want to get the Brazilian Buttlift workout video to lift my bum! I dont work out and am pretty lazy. Im in good shape thank God after kids. I am a bartender so that is my workout! I also need to get my skin in shape! I keep breaking out and crap! Any advice?? I want to get Clinique stuff
@Pinksapphire: I had back-ne and on my chest area too.. I joined the Navy and was prescribed Cetaphil!! It helped soooo much! My dad was in the Navy too but never took me to the Dr's for FREE!! Ughhhh! I was sooo embarrased my Jr. Prom It sucked! I feel ur pain. I dont have it anymore but I know how it is.

My date is 8 months away, but as soon as I got engaged I started dieting and working out more, to drop 2 dress sizes before the big day. I'm also growing out my hair and taking B complex vitamins in hopes it'll boost hair growth just a bit. I went through all my skincare and got rid of harsh products, and I'm becoming more diligent about wearing sunscreen every single day.
I'm also thinking about getting my teeth whitened and giving up coffee! But that's quite extreme.
What are you doing ahead of time?
